Congress of the Vietnam - Spain Friendship Association for the term (2013-2018)
(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of June 21, the Vietnam - Spain Friendship Association held its 2nd congress (term 2013-2018). Attending the congress were comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations in Nghe An.
Since 1998, Spain has helped Nghe An with many projects on hunger eradication and poverty reduction; sponsored the upgrading of medical facilities and equipment for districts in the province with a capital of tens of billions of VND, including: upgrading 13 commune health stations, organizing training courses for medical staff, management staff for district health centers with a total amount of 8 billion VND, upgrading medical services for districts: Yen Thanh, Tan Ky, Anh Son; building 5 general clinics in Do Luong and Quy Hop.

In addition, ANESVAD (a Spanish non-governmental organization) also helped the Provincial Women's Union with a project to communicate health care and nutrition for mothers and children in the districts with a budget of 5 billion VND.
The Vietnam - Spain Friendship Association of Nghe An was established in 2005. During the past term, the Association has had many practical activities, contributing to diplomacy in general and people-to-people diplomacy in particular. In the coming term, the Association will, through the Central Committee of the Vietnam - Spain Friendship Association, establish cooperative relations to coordinate foreign affairs activities, cooperate in economic - cultural and social development to increase the support of non-governmental organizations and new partners of Spain in Nghe An. Seek and mobilize Spanish organizations and individuals to invest in Nghe An in a number of fields such as culture - sports, tourism, health, education and training, aquaculture, etc.
Speaking at the congress, comrade Nguyen Xuan Son highly appreciated the results of the association's activities and directions for the next term. He suggested that the association should grasp and practice the motto "proactive, flexible - creative and effective", thereby finding solutions and ways to promote information and propaganda, connect feelings, and create cultural exchange activities between the people of the two countries. Taking advantage of your support to create a more favorable international environment, attract NGO projects, and contribute to promoting the province's international integration process.

Introducing the next term Executive Committee
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee awarded certificates of merit from the Provincial People's Committee to 7 individuals and 7 groups with achievements in people's foreign affairs. The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations awarded the Medal "For Peace and Friendship among Nations" and the Certificate of Merit "For Many Positive Contributions in People's Foreign Affairs" to individuals.
