Congress of Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association of Nghe An province

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 13, 2014, in Vinh City, the Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association of Nghe An province held the Congress for the 2014 - 2019 term. Mr. Ta Quang Ngoc, former Minister of Fisheries, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association attended and directed the Congress.

Members of the Provincial Party Committee: Nguyen Xuan Son - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Dinh Thi Le Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of the Nghe An Union of Friendship Organizations, relevant departments and branches, many Thai students studying at universities in Vinh City and more than 200 members of the branches attended.

President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association - Mr. Ta Quang Ngoc presented a banner to the Congress.

During the past term, the Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association of Nghe An province has coordinated with the Thailand - Vietnam Association in the provinces of the neighboring country to organize exchanges in many forms and have achieved many good results. The understanding of the country, people, history, culture as well as the relationship between Vietnam and Thailand has been more deeply understood by the people of both sides. Every year, on the occasion of major holidays of the two countries, the Association has organized exchanges and meetings among its members, between its branches and Thai friends with rich and practical content. Thereby, the Association acts as a bridge to mobilize and promote cooperation, joint ventures, and economic development links, trade, culture, sports, tourism, education and training in science, technology and technology between Nghe An and Thailand. On the other hand, the Association also participates in welcoming many Thai business delegations to visit and work in Nghe An.

The Congress Presidium received the banner presented by the Provincial People's Committee.

Currently, the association has 2 branches in Vinh City and Thai Hoa Town with a total of more than 227 members living and working in Nghe An. In the near future, the association will establish 3 new branches in Quy Chau, Vinh City Students and businesses in Vinh City.

The congress also set out the direction of activities for the next term.

The Congress received a banner from the Central Committee of the Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association with the words "Solidarity, democracy, innovation, development" and a banner from the People's Committee of Nghe An province with the words "Solidarity, friendship, cooperation for development" presented by Vice President Dinh Thi Le Thanh.

Speaking at the Congress, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Xuan Son highly appreciated the role and results that the Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association of Nghe An province has achieved in the past term; making an important contribution to the foreign affairs of our Party and State. The Association implements the motto of being proactive, flexible, creative and effective in people-to-people diplomacy; economic, trade, cultural, educational, sports and tourism relations, strengthening the friendly relationship between the people of Nghe An and the people of the neighboring province of Thailand.

The Congress also elected the 25-member Executive Committee of the Association chaired by Mr. Ho Mau Thanh - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
