The 3rd Congress of Nghe An Province Association for Promotion of Education, term 2011-2016

(Baonghean) -On October 23, Nghe An Province's Association for Promoting Education held its 3rd Congress for the 2011-2016 term. Attending the congress were comrades: Nguyen Manh Cam, former Politburo member, former Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of Vietnam Association for Promoting Education; Tran Hong Chau - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Nguyen Xuan Duong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

During the past term, the work of encouraging learning, encouraging talents, and building a learning society in schools and in society has received attention and had positive changes. Movements such as "Family of learning", "Clan of learning", "Commune, ward, town of learning promotion"... have been actively responded to by members and the whole community. In the past 5 years, nearly 1,470,000 families of learning have been elected; the whole province has 5,580 DHHH; 479/479 communes, wards, and towns have Learning Promotion Associations attracting 460,000 members to participate. Through many different forms, learning promotion funds at all levels have been built and used effectively, receiving active support from organizations, units, individuals, and the whole society. In the past 5 years, 147.3 billion VND of learning promotion funds have been mobilized, rewarding hundreds of thousands of excellent students at all levels.

Comrade Tran Hong Chau awarded the emulation flag to the Provincial Association for the Promotion of Education.

The Association for Promotion of Education was honored to receive the Third Class Labor Medal, along with many Certificates of Merit, Certificates of Merit, and Emulation Flags from the Central Association, Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee...

In the coming term, the provincial Association for the Promotion of Education sets the target: 70% of the Associations for the Promotion of Education at all levels will achieve the title of Good Emulation or higher; 60% of the Family and Associations for the Promotion of Education will achieve the title of Good Emulation or higher; membership will reach 20% of the population; and the Association will strive to achieve a fund for the promotion of education of 10,000-12,000 VND/person/year.

Speaking at the Congress, comrade Nguyen Manh Cam praised the achievements of the Provincial Association for the Promotion of Education in the past term, and hoped that the Association for the Promotion of Education would replicate good models and practices in the movement to promote education and talent; focus on improving the effectiveness of community learning centers, encouraging the learning movement of all classes of people, especially farmers; increase the fund for the promotion of education, sponsor scholarships for students in mountainous districts and areas with special difficulties...

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education presented an emulation flag to the Provincial Association for Promoting Education, awarded commemorative medals to 5 individuals with many contributions to the movement to promote education and talents, and supported the provincial education promotion fund with 30 million VND.

On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee, comrade Tran Hong Chau, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, presented the emulation flag to the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education.

The Congress elected 51 comrades to the Executive Committee of the Provincial Association for the Promotion of Education, term III, including 9 members of the Standing Committee of the Association and 4 standing members of the Association.
