(Baonghean) -This morning, September 23, at the Vinh City Labor Culture House, the first Nghe An Provincial Buddhist Congress, term 2011 - 2016, officially opened.

Attending the congress were comrades: Ha Van Nui - Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Bui Huu Duoc - Head of the Department of Buddhism, Government Committee for Religious Affairs, Representative of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization.

The Executive Committee of Nghe An Provincial Buddhist Sangha launched the Congress

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Thai Van Hang - Member of the Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Hong Nhi - Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, representatives of the Mass Mobilization Committee and provincial departments, branches and sectors.

The report on the formation and development of Buddhism in Nghe An clearly states the formation and development of Buddhism in Nghe An and the contributions of Buddhism to social life.

The first Congress of Nghe An Provincial Buddhism for the 2011-2016 term focused on discussing the program of key Buddhist activities. In particular, continuing to promote the tradition of Nghe An Buddhist history, upholding the spirit of solidarity and harmony, actively participating in Buddhist activities that benefit religion and life. Organizing well social and humanitarian charity activities in the area; closely coordinating with local agencies, departments and branches in Buddhist history activities, ensuring compliance with the law and Buddhist traditions, guiding Buddhists to participate in activities in accordance with the Dharma.

Speaking at the congress, comrade Thai Van Hang - Member of the Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province emphasized: "With the motto of operation: Dharma - Nation - Socialism of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, we believe that monks, nuns and Buddhists of Nghe An will well implement the programs and resolutions set forth by the Congress, actively contributing with the Party Committee, Government, Fatherland Front and people of Nghe An, building Nghe An province to be more and more civilized, rich, stable and sustainable development, worthy of the tradition of beloved Uncle Ho's homeland".

At the Congress, the representative of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha read the decision to establish the Executive Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Buddhist Sangha consisting of 10 members, headed by Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu - Vice President of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.
