(Baonghean.vn)- On November 27, at My Dinh National Sports Complex, Nghe An petanque athletes entered the competition at the 5th National Sports Festival - 2014.

At this Congress, Nghe An petanque competed in 7/11 categories: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, men's technical, women's technical and two women and one man. Facing fierce competition from many localities with strong petanque movements such as Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Thap, Can Tho, Soc Trang, Ba Ria - Vung Tau... Nghe An petanque set a modest target of only 1 gold medal.

However, in the first two competitions, men's doubles and women's doubles, Nghe An petanque athletes caused a big surprise when they won 2 gold medals. In the final match of the women's doubles, Lo Thi Lieu and Nguyen Thi Lanh convincingly defeated the pair from Ho Chi Minh City with a score of 13 - 3. Then, in the final match of the men's doubles, Pham Thanh Phong and Nguyen Thanh Trung made an even more impressive impression when they defeated the pair from Ba Ria - Vung Tau with a score of 13 - 8. These were also the first 2 gold medals of the Nghe An sports delegation at the 5th National Sports Festival.
