Specifically, on June 13, TASS reported that Russian Ambassador to the United States, Mr. Anatoly Antonov, stated that Russia is on the right side of history amid the recent global geopolitical crisis. He stated: “Our country has proven itself to be a reliable partner for all those who are willing to cooperate based on mutual respect and balance of interests. We are on the right side of history, and time will return everything to its right place.”
“Returning to the principle of indivisibility of security is the only way to prevent future conflicts,” the Russian diplomat added.
Mr. Antonov also expressed his belief that without Russia, without its "enormous human potential, rich resources and historical experience", it would be impossible to solve serious international problems.
The Russian ambassador to the US added that constructive communication and interaction with all countries of the world, including the US, serves Russia's interests. “Constructive cooperation with all countries of the world is beneficial for Russia. This is all the more important in the case of the US, especially given the special responsibility of these two nuclear powers for strategic stability and global security,” Antonov noted.
“Without our country, as well as its enormous human potential, rich resources and historical experience, it would be impossible to solve the most serious international problems. Against the backdrop of worsening conflicts, there are growing threats such as terrorism, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, cybercrime, climate change and many others. All this is well understood by our like-minded people all over the world. Their measured response to Russia's actions to protect our fundamental interests and refusal to join the anti-Russian coalition and sanctions is evidenced by this,” the Russian diplomat stressed.
"Not only Russia, but the entire global system, based on the UN Charter and the principle of sovereign equality, is facing challenges. We will continue to interact with our partners in the Commonwealth of Independent States, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and our friends in Europe to form a unified agenda. Together we will seek ways to overcome the many challenges of our time, striving towards stronger international law," the Ambassador said.
