South Korean Ambassador Believes North Korean Leader Kim Jong-un Would Love Vietnamese Pho
South Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Kim Do-hyon said that the US and North Korea's agreement to hold the summit in Hanoi was based on trust in Vietnam's capabilities. He believes that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un will enjoy Vietnamese pho.
Speaking to the press on the afternoon of February 20, South Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Kim Do-hyon shared his hope that the second US-North Korea summit will establish a solid foundation, and this foundation will be the springboard to promote and complete the denuclearization process as well as establish peace on the Korean peninsula.

The Ambassador believes that Vietnam's role as ASEAN Chair in 2020, becoming part of the peace process, participating in actions, coordination and peace building will bring stability and integration to Asian power.
By hosting the summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, Vietnam is now at the center of an important global event and can seize this opportunity to affirm its position in the international community, promoting cooperation and international economic integration.
"When you come here, you will see a renewed Vietnam, a growing economy. This is a clear and coherent message to North Korea and the world. The Vietnamese economy was once closed and is now transforming," the Ambassador assessed.
In particular, Ambassador Kim Do-hyon said that this is an opportunity for everyone to fully grasp the capital Hanoi, with charming street corners, architecture, vivid landscapes and motorbikes moving everywhere... Hanoi is a city with excellent cuisine in Asia. "I am sure Mr. Kim Jong-un will love to eat Vietnamese pho" - the Ambassador happily said in Vietnamese.
Affirming that the Summit is a great opportunity to promote Hanoi, a city of peace, the Ambassador also said that the US and North Korea's agreement to hold the summit in Hanoi is based on trust in Vietnam's capacity.
Vietnam has experience in organizing major ASEAN and world events. During the events, we talked about peace, about what Vietnam can contribute to the peace process.
During her visit to South Korea last December, Chairwoman of the Vietnamese National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan emphasized that Vietnam wants to be a bridge for peace. The Ambassador said that this also has great significance in making the final decision.
Ambassador Kim Do-hyon said that with the success of the summit, the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Korea will be strongly promoted.
The summit will end, but the three economies will be more connected, coordinated and integrated. The three countries: North Korea, South Korea, and Vietnam can form a strong economic community, looking to each other to become partners.
