Russian Ambassador comments on new US sanctions
New US sanctions delay the prospects for any constructive interaction between Russia and the United States, Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov said on Monday.
Contrary to the "Geneva spirit"
Mr. Antonov commented that the latest US sanctions against a number of Russian companies are contrary to the parties' efforts to stabilize bilateral relations.
"We consider this approach unacceptable and fundamentally contrary to the 'Geneva spirit', as well as efforts to stabilize relations between the two countries. On the contrary, by such actions, Washington is increasingly pushing back the prospects of any constructive interaction," Ambassador Antonov told journalists.
