Japanese Ambassador visits and works in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - On August 13, a delegation from the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam led by Mr. Hiroshi Fukada - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan in Vietnam visited and worked in Nghe An.
Receiving and working with the delegation were comrades: Tran Van Hang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee; Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Office of the Provincial People's Committee, representatives of leaders of relevant departments and branches.

Up to now, the total number of ODA projects funded by Japan in Nghe An is 44 projects with a total investment of up to 6,172,087 billion VND; The number of basic construction projects completed (40 projects) with a total implementation cost of about 555,587 billion VND, focusing mainly on supporting the construction of traffic works in rural and mountainous areas; There are 03 new projects with a total investment of 5,616.5 billion VND. Regarding direct investment cooperation, up to now, there have been 4 investment projects with 1.1 billion USD such as: Yabashi white limestone mining, garment export, infrastructure business of Hoang Mai I industrial park and the largest FDI project of Japan invested in Nghe An is the sponge iron factory of Kobelco Steel Company with a total investment capital of 1 billion USD. Japanese businesses are considered by Nghe An province as the most important investment attraction partners.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong requested the Japanese Ambassador to continue to prioritize support for ongoing ODA projects and mobilize funding sources to focus on hunger eradication, poverty reduction, social security network development, essential infrastructure services and infrastructure projects in Nghe An; Requested the Ambassador to pay attention and mobilize partners to choose Nghe An as the place to implement the project of building specialized industrial zones for Japanese investors; Continue to support in removing obstacles, creating favorable conditions for the Kobleco Sponge Iron Factory project to continue to be implemented.

Mr. Hiroshi Fukada suggested building Nghe An as a pilot site for agricultural project development; Regarding the province's recommendations, the Japanese side continues to consider and study the use of ODA capital for Nghe An province, hoping that Nghe An will continue to make efforts to attract Japanese enterprises to Nghe An, the Ambassador will support as a bridge and advise organizations and enterprises to seek investment opportunities in Nghe An.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, comrade Ho Duc Phoc acknowledged the Ambassador's comments to continue improving the investment environment and attracting Japanese enterprises to invest in Nghe An. The Provincial Party Secretary emphasized a number of preferential policies to attract investment for Japanese investors and enterprises. At the same time, he requested the Ambassador and organizations to create conditions for Nghe An to organize an investment promotion conference with Japanese enterprises in 2015.

On the same afternoon, a delegation from the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam led by Mr. Hiroshi Fukada - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan in Vietnam visited and learned about Vinamik's dairy farm in Thai Hoa town.

At the meeting, the delegation heard a report on the farm's operations. Vinamilk farm in Nghe An is the first farm in Southeast Asia to be certified by Global GAP and is one of three farms in Asia that meet the international standards of Global GAP. Achieving the international certification of Global GAP affirms the brand and competitiveness in the market, meeting the requirements of customers in demanding markets such as Europe and the US; is an advantage in signing contracts and bidding, ready to meet the increasing demands of customers; effectively and sustainably using agricultural production resources.
Ambassador Hiroshi Fukada highly appreciated the friendly environment of the farm as well as the product quality and market share of Vinamik in the Vietnamese market. Achieving the international certification Global GAP has proven that Vinamik has taken the right and solid steps.
