French Ambassador thanks Vietnam for sharing about terrorist attack

The Ambassador said that France has re-established control over the border system, but still welcomes Vietnamese and other foreign tourists.

In an interview with VOV.VN this afternoon (November 14), French Ambassador to Vietnam Jean-Noel Poirier said that after the terrorist attack considered the most horrific in the history of the country, the French President decided to strengthen security measures and declare a state of emergency across the country.

The Ambassador also stressed that this means that French security forces now have more powers and means to intervene in traffic control and people's movements, or to conduct searches of suspected houses to search for terrorists and weapons caches, and to continue to strengthen online security measures to combat arms trafficking and prevent the propaganda of radical Islam.

The Ambassador also said that France has re-established systematic border controls after the terrorist attack, emphasizing that this does not mean that France is completely closed to the outside world and still welcomes Vietnamese citizens and other countries to travel.

Ambassador Jean-Noel Poirier also shared that for many years, France has participated in the fight against terrorism, especially in the Middle East. In recent days, the country has also carried out military operations against extremist Islamic organizations.

The Ambassador believes that after this event, with perseverance and determination, France and the international community will defeat the terrorist forces.

Through the interview, the Ambassador also wanted to express France's deep gratitude to the people and the State of Vietnam for expressing solidarity with France through words of sharing and encouragement.

The Ambassador also emphasized that France always welcomes and creates the most favorable conditions for Vietnamese people to come to France and aims to double the number of visas issued to citizens within the next two years.
