Greek police said four men on two motorbikes fired AK-47s at the Israeli Embassy building in the southern suburbs of Athens, leaving several bullets lodged in the walls.
Authorities also found 15 empty bullet casings in an area 40 meters from the building. Police have cordoned off the entire area around the Embassy.
The Israeli embassy has not been the target of small-scale violence that has broken out in Greece in recent years, as the economic crisis has heightened social and political tensions.
However, the German Ambassador's residence in Greece was hit by bullets last year./
