Thai Ambassador visits billion-dollar project office in Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 8, a delegation from the Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand in Vietnam led by Ambassador Manopchai Vongphakdi visited and worked at WHA Hemaraj Company.

Accompanying the delegation were comrade Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs.

At the meeting, the delegation listened to a representative of WHA Hemaraj Company introduce the WHA Hemaraj Industrial Park project in Nghe An. With a total investment of 1 billion USD and a total area of ​​3,200 hectares upon completion, WHA Hemaraj Industrial Park - Nghe An will be the largest industrial park in the North Central region, connecting this new production and distribution center with domestic and international markets.

The representative of WHA Hemaraj Company also raised 6 outstanding issues under the authority of Nghe An province and the Vietnamese Government, including: land lease term, environmental impact assessment report, raw material land, site clearance payment, water supply and wastewater treatment, and investment in electricity system.

Speaking at the meeting, Thai Ambassador Manopchai Vongphakdi said that WHA Hemaraj-Nghe An is Thailand's largest project in the North Central region of Vietnam. "This is a major project that the Thai Government hopes will be successful and attract Thai and Japanese businesses to deploy production and business," he said.

The head of the Thai diplomatic mission in Vietnam also emphasized that Nghe An is the hometown of President Ho Chi Minh - a world-famous person, so he requested Thai investors to implement the project effectively and with quality, and hoped that Nghe An province would create favorable conditions to support the project to come into operation soon, and develop together in prosperity.

Representing the leaders of Nghe An province, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Hoa said that the province is and will continue to make efforts to accompany WHA Hemaraj-Nghe An Company to remove obstacles and difficulties for businesses. "Hopefully, Hemaraj will be satisfied with what Nghe An province will do in the future to facilitate the project," said Mr. Hoa.

On the same afternoon, the Thai Embassy delegation will have a courtesy meeting with the leaders of Nghe An province.
