North Korean ambassador walks out before Trump speaks at the United Nations
North Korean Ambassador Ja Song-nam left his seat and walked out just before US President Donald Trump delivered his first speech at the United Nations and condemned Pyongyang's weapons program.

Ambassador Ja Song-nam, North Korea's permanent representative to the United Nations since February 2014, was seen standing up, leaving his seat and walking out of the meeting room at the United Nations headquarters in New York, USA yesterday, September 19.
According toSunAmbassador Ja Song-nam quickly walked past the rows of delegates from countries around the world, then headed towards the exit while other leaders and senior officials were still sitting in the meeting.
The North Korean ambassador left just before President Donald Trump delivered his first speech at the United Nations. According toNBCThe North Korean delegation said they "boycotted" the US leader's speech and sent only a low-ranking diplomat to sit in the hall to attend the meeting.

President Trump devoted part of his highly anticipated speech to criticizing and warning North Korea. The White House boss once again called leader Kim Jong-un “rocket man”, warned that Pyongyang was on a suicidal path and threatened to totally destroy the country.
Ambassador Ja Song-nam has repeatedly voiced his opposition to the US presence in South Korea. In March, he wrote a letter to the British ambassador to the United Nations, saying that “the situation on the Korean Peninsula is approaching a nuclear war” due to the joint US-South Korea military exercises.
