Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine works with Chairman of Friendship Parliamentary Group

Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine - Nguyen Anh Tuan had a working session with Ms. Oksana Yurinets, Chairwoman of the Ukraine - Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group.

At the meeting, Ambassador Nguyen Anh Tuan was pleased to announce that he had presented his credentials to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on November 28, 2017; the results of the Ambassador's visit and work at the Institute of Languages ​​of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiev on December 6, 2017, especially the discussion between the two sides on the agreement to open a Center for Vietnamese Studies at the Institute.

The Ambassador thanked and appreciated the active role of the Ukrainian parliamentarians in strengthening and developing the friendly relationship in recent times, and expressed his hope that the Friendship Parliamentarians Group with Vietnam in the Ukrainian Parliament will continue to closely coordinate with the National Assembly, associations, and relevant agencies of the two countries, maintain and enhance mutual understanding and mutually beneficial cooperation, coordinate with the Embassy to carry out major activities during the year, and successfully organize "Vietnam Day" in several major cities of Ukraine (expected in July 2018).

For her part, MP Oksana Yurinets expressed her good impressions of the country and people of Vietnam, affirming that although Ukraine has many socio-political fluctuations that have significantly affected bilateral relations, with the active and proactive efforts of the Embassy and social organizations of the two countries, the friendly relations in general and the relationship between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Ukrainian National Assembly in particular, have been maintained and are continuing to develop. She also said that the Ukraine - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians Group will soon organize a working visit to Vietnam, expected in the second quarter of 2018./.
