Colonel Nguyen Huu Cau: Need to fight fiercely against dirty food production

(Baonghean.vn) - Believing that dirty, unsafe foods and improper use of pesticides all originate from the establishments themselves, Colonel Nguyen Huu Cau - Director of the Provincial Police Department requested that local authorities take drastic action.

On the morning of November 30, National Assembly delegates including Mr. Le Quang Huy - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment and Mr. Nguyen Huu Cau - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of the Provincial Police met with voters of 5 communes: Thuong Son, Hien Son, Tru Son, Dai Son, My Son, Do Luong district.

Next, voters made recommendations to the National Assembly deputies. Pointing out the fact that the construction of traffic works funded, constructed and supervised by the people themselves has better quality than the constructions invested by the state, even though the cost is higher in the locality, Mr. Nguyen Cong Thang, a voter of Thuong Son commune, suggested that the National Assembly and the Government should pay attention to strongly reforming regulations and procedures in basic construction, preventing loss and waste in this field.

Concerned about the implementation of the streamlining of the apparatus according to Resolution 39 of the Politburo in 2016 and 2017, which not only failed to reduce the number of employees according to the set target but also increased the number of employees, Mr. Nguyen Cong Thang proposed that the National Assembly should come up with solutions and a more drastic spirit in the coming time; at the same time, there should be a mechanism and direction to create transparency in the recruitment of civil servants.

Reflecting the current difficulty in finding staff at the hamlet level, leading to the fact that most of the people taking on tasks at the hamlet level are elderly or retired, while young people are working in the economy, Mr. Nguyen Tho Van, a voter of Hien Son commune, suggested that the Party, National Assembly, and Government need to study a mechanism to attract young and capable people to take on tasks at the block and hamlet level.

Many voters also reflected on the inappropriateness of the policy of allowing private organizations and enterprises to participate in land auctions in rural areas, causing negative consequences leading to people losing more money to buy land.

Voters also recommended that the National Assembly and the Government have strict regulations on the preparation and control of estimates, final accounts, and supplementary estimates for basic construction works to limit corruption in this field; have a mechanism for publicizing and making transparent the estimates of projects from the superior level as the investor to the local authorities and people who benefit from the projects, and at the same time have a mechanism for local supervision.

Voters also proposed that the National Assembly and the Government take more drastic and stronger measures to prevent dirty food. Many of the voters' recommendations also focused on the shortcomings and limitations in implementing the housing support and reward policies for meritorious people; resolving policies for people affected by Agent Orange, improving policies for the elderly, etc.

Delegate Nguyen Huu Cau also directly explained and clarified many issues related to streamlining the organizational apparatus, improving the quality of cadres and civil servants, especially at the commune level; solving output for agricultural products; anti-corruption work, ensuring national security and defense, protecting the Fatherland, etc.
