Delegation of generations of National Assembly deputies of Nghe An attended the meeting program chaired by General Secretary To Lam
On the morning of August 27, at the My Dinh National Convention Center, Hanoi, General Secretary To Lam chaired a meeting with nearly 2,000 National Assembly deputies from different periods.

The meeting was held to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) and towards the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026).
Attending the meeting were Politburo members: Luong Cuong - President; Pham Minh Chinh - Prime Minister; Tran Thanh Man - Chairman of the National Assembly; Tran Cam Tu - Standing member of the Secretariat; along with leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front and nearly 2,000 National Assembly deputies of different periods.
The Nghe An delegation had 58 delegates led by Comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province.

For the first time in history, with special affection and attention, the Party leader chaired a meeting of generations of National Assembly deputies; the event had profound significance, marking the special attention of the Party and State for the great contributions of the National Assembly in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
This is also an opportunity to show gratitude, review traditions, share experiences, arouse the desire for innovation, and build an increasingly democratic, professional, and modern National Assembly for a rich, powerful, and prosperous Vietnam, firmly entering a new era of the nation.

Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary To Lam respectfully paid tribute to beloved President Ho Chi Minh and predecessors who opened the path to independence and freedom; and to heroic martyrs, compatriots and comrades who sacrificed for the Fatherland.
It is from these great sacrifices that we have a State of the people, by the people and for the people, with a National Assembly - the highest representative body of the people, which is the crystallization of the intelligence, will and aspirations of the nation.

Reviewing the 80-year journey, the General Secretary affirmed: The development path of the Vietnamese National Assembly is a steadfast, creative and constantly innovative journey.
Having gone through two long resistance wars, then the period of national reunification, building and defending the Fatherland; entering the process of Renovation and deep integration, the National Assembly has always accompanied the nation, being the place where important decisions in accordance with the will and aspirations of the people are democratically discussed, carefully approved, and resolutely implemented.
"Today, we honor the National Assembly not only as the highest State power institution, but first of all as a common home of people's representatives who have shouldered the heavy but noble responsibility: Listening to the people, speaking for the people, protecting the legitimate interests of the people," the General Secretary said.

After informing delegates about some achievements and orientations for the country's development in the coming time, General Secretary To Lam emphasized: "The 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 is an opportunity to review the past and illuminate the future. From the aspiration for independence to the aspiration for power, from the truth "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom" to the goal of striving for "Vietnam to be strong, prosperous, happy, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers", we are on a journey to extend our aspirations".
On that journey, the General Secretary pointed out: "The National Assembly must be one step ahead in terms of institutions; must dare to pave the way, dare to repair the way, dare to decide on difficult issues, new matters, and unprecedented fields."

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary To Lam expressed deep gratitude to generations of National Assembly deputies through the periods; acknowledged and commended the efforts of the National Assembly, National Assembly agencies, delegations, and each National Assembly deputy over the past time.
The General Secretary hopes and believes that, with its glorious tradition, steadfast political will, collective intelligence, aspiration for innovation and spirit of serving the people, the Vietnamese National Assembly will continue to be worthy of the people's trust, a vivid embodiment of the socialist rule-of-law state, and an important driving force to promote the country's rapid and sustainable development.

On behalf of the National Assembly and generations of Vietnamese National Assembly deputies, Comrade Tran Thanh Man - Chairman of the National Assembly respectfully thanked General Secretary To Lam for chairing the meeting with special affection for the National Assembly, expressing gratitude for the contributions and sacrifices of National Assembly deputies, acknowledging the achievements in the past terms, and at the same time providing strategic and comprehensive directions for the National Assembly's activities in the coming time.

The National Assembly Chairman emphasized: “Accompanying the nation, the National Assembly has constantly innovated, affirming its position and role as the highest representative body of the People, the highest state power body of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, leaving important marks, great achievements, and historical significance. Contributing to that common achievement are the intellectual dedication, mettle, enthusiasm, and high responsibility of generations of National Assembly deputies of all periods," the National Assembly Chairman emphasized.

On behalf of the National Assembly Party Committee and the National Assembly Standing Committee, the National Assembly Chairman respectfully thanks the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat of all terms; respectfully thanks the Government, judicial agencies, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, ministries, branches, localities and people nationwide for their solidarity, trust, companionship, and timely, effective support; and expresses his respect and gratitude for the valuable contributions of National Assembly deputies of all periods.

The National Assembly Chairman hopes that National Assembly deputies of all periods will always maintain close ties and intimate ties with the Party, State and People; continue to contribute to the National Assembly, to the great revolutionary cause of the Party and our nation.

Comrade Tran Thanh Man affirmed: The National Assembly will continue to implement the Party's policies, listen to the opinions of voters, people and businesses; accompany the Government, closely coordinate with relevant agencies, effectively carry out the work of law-making, supreme supervision, and decide on important issues of the country; continue to promote the spirit of innovation, creativity, democracy and solidarity; promptly institutionalize the Party's Resolutions, and put the Party's policies into practice.
