Big win over Galatasaray, Real secures ticket to semi-finals

Real Madrid are all but certain to reach the Champions League semi-finals after a resounding 3-0 win over Galatasaray in the quarter-finals. Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain were the goalscorers who gave the "White Vultures" the advantage.

With home advantage, Real Madrid had no difficulty putting pressure on Galatasaray's goal right after the opening whistle. The superiority in class helped the Royal team celebrate early.

In the 9th minute of the match, Mesut Oezil had a smart pass, creating conditions for Cris Ronaldo to run down and delicately chip the ball with his left foot, defeating Muslera, opening the score 1-0 for Real Madrid.

After conceding the goal, Galatasaray fought back strongly to find a goal. The Turkish representative gradually regained control of the game and put pressure but could not find a way into Lopez's goal.

Attacking without scoring, Galatasaray continued to suffer bitter consequences at Bernabeu. In the 29th minute, Benzema calmly received the ball from Essien and then fired a low shot into the near corner to increase the score to 2-0.

After unsuccessfully searching for an away goal to make up for the second leg, Galatasaray conceded a third goal. In the 73rd minute, from a direct free kick by Xabi Alonso, striker Gonzalo Higuain comfortably headed the ball in an unmarked position, sealing a 3-0 victory for Real Madrid.

With this result, coach Jose Mourinho and his team are considered to have set foot in the semi-finals, even though they still have 90 minutes ahead of them in Turkey.

As for Galatasaray, winning a ticket to the next round is probably impossible for them. Because to be present in the semi-finals, the Turkish representative will have to win at least 4-0.
