On October 3, the General Director of Voice of Vietnam signed a decision to discipline reporter Nguyen Chu Trinh, working at the Voice of Vietnam's Mekong Delta Regional Office, with a warning, indefinite suspension from journalistic activities and assignment to other work due to violations of writing false news and not complying with news and article production procedures.

On the same day, the General Director of Voice of Vietnam also signed a decision to discipline Mr. Pham Manh Hung, Editor-in-Chief of VOV Electronic Newspaper under Voice of Vietnam, with a reprimand for posting false news.
Previously, on September 18, reporter Nguyen Chu Trinh wrote a story about a father-in-law having sex with his daughter-in-law and this information was posted on VOV Online newspaper.
On September 20, after verifying that this story was not true, VOV Electronic Newspaper deleted this information and published a correction according to the provisions of the Press Law./.
