Ensuring goods for Lunar New Year

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of January 25, comrade Thai Van Hang, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade inspected the preparation of goods and prices for the Lunar New Year.

The delegation inspected the work of stockpiling goods and selling prices at the price stabilization kiosks of the General Agricultural Products Import-Export Corporation, Vietnam - Laos Economic Cooperation Investment Joint Stock Company and Duc Thanh Trading and Service Company Limited. The units have done a good job of stockpiling goods as well as selling at the correct listed prices.

These are 3 of 6 enterprises supported by the Provincial People's Committee with 20.3 billion VND to reserve essential goods such as cooking oil, rice, and sticky rice to stabilize market prices. The total quantity of goods reserved, specifically: 700 tons of rice, 100 tons of sticky rice, 350,000 liters of cooking oil.... The time for storing goods is 3 months (from December 1, 2013 to February 28, 2014).

The delegation also inspected the supply of goods to serve the Lunar New Year at Metro supermarket. The supermarket leaders reported to the Vice President about the situation of goods reserves, service time as well as commitments on the origin and quality of goods.

The Vice Chairman of the province requested that businesses proactively calculate production and business plans to ensure smooth operations during the Lunar New Year. Measures must be taken to ensure adequate supply of goods, especially essential consumer goods, and absolutely prevent shortages, speculation, hoarding of goods, and price hikes.

Regarding Metro supermarket, he suggested that the supermarket should ensure a good supply of goods to meet the needs of people during the Lunar New Year. At the same time, the supermarket should continue to improve the quality of goods and customer service attitude so that people can raise their awareness in consuming food and goods with clear origin and guaranteed quality.
