Ensuring essential needs for highland villages in Nghe An during lockdown
(Baonghean.vn) - After Cham Puong village in Tuong Duong district (Nghe An) was locked down due to the discovery of 3 Covid-19 cases, organizations and departments immediately considered plans to ensure essential necessities for the people.
Cham Puongis one of the Khmu villages, located farthest in Luong Minh commune, 12km from the commune center, bordering Ky Son district. There are 197 households with 920 people, most of whom are poor and near-poor households.
Immediately after confirming that 3 cases in the same family living in Cham Puong village tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on July 13, the functional forces and the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Tuong Duong district immediately locked down the entire population of this village to focus on epidemic prevention work.

Mr. Vi Dinh Phuc - Chairman of the People's CommitteeLuong Minh communesaid: Cham Puong village has more than 75% poor households, the people's lives mainly depend on farming, people live close together in the same area. Immediately after the blockade of the whole village, the commune also proposed to the district to have a plan to support the people with necessities, ensuring that people do not lack food during the blockade.

Currently, after officially locking down the entire Cham Puong village, according to Directive No. 16/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister and simultaneously applying Directive No. 15 to the remaining villages in Luong Minh commune, the People's Committee of Tuong Duong district has also notified the localities bordering Luong Minh commune about the epidemic situation to coordinate in directing epidemic prevention.

Mr. Phan Duc Son - Chairman of the District People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Tuong Duong District said: On the night of July 13, when 3 cases of Covid-19 infection were confirmed in Cham Puong village, the district's steering committee convened an emergency meeting and set out 7 urgent tasks. These included immediately implementing the blockade and isolation of the entire Cham Puong village that night; establishing a tracing team to identify F1 and F2 cases for centralized isolation and home isolation; and propagandizing to stabilize the psychology of the people.
The Steering Committee also immediately established a command center located in Cham Puong village, directly commanded by a Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee. The centralized quarantine center at Tuong Duong District Ethnic Minority Secondary School was put into operation to ensure immediate centralized quarantine for F1 cases. At the same time, solutions to implement the 4-on-the-spot motto were quickly deployed to control the epidemic as quickly as possible, preventing it from spreading to the community.

In the immediate future, the district's Covid-19 Prevention and Control Steering Committee has allocated the reserve budget and the Covid-19 Prevention Fund to ensure timely care for the people. At the same time, the district's Fatherland Front Committee has been assigned to mobilize departments, branches, organizations, and philanthropists to support people in epidemic areas and people in quarantine areas, with the view of not letting any people be left behind during the epidemic.
Currently, the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Tuong Duong district has mobilized the police, army, militia and self-defense forces... to set up checkpoints at Cham Puong village and Luong Minh commune; at both ends of the villages in the commune, checkpoints have been set up to control people entering and exiting; two checkpoints have been set up on the Luong Minh - Yen Na and Xa Luong - Luong Minh routes.
After conducting a review on the night of July 13, up to now, the Covid-19 Prevention and Control Steering Committee of Tuong Duong district has decided to quarantine 135 F1 cases at the quarantine point of Tuong Duong District Ethnic Minority Secondary School./.
