(Baonghean) - Every time they pick up a brush and sit in front of the canvas, they seem to forget that time is passing and sometimes forget who they are in this bustling city. That is my feeling when attending a class of the Fine Arts Pedagogy class, Faculty of Fine Arts, Nghe An College of Culture and Arts...

The class had only 4 people, no teacher, no blackboard, no chalk, no textbooks... but only color boards, drawing boards, and all kinds of brushes... Each person "plugged" themselves into the drawing board, freely imagining and creating. One drew a scene of coastal people drying nets, another drew a street vendor, another drew a scene of Thai ethnic women weaving. Each person had an idea, a topic, but within it was a passion and love for life. Lecturer Nguyen Thi Hai Nhung said: “The College of Culture and Arts in general and the Faculty of Fine Arts in particular have special characteristics in teaching and learning. Usually each subject has 16 periods, of which only 1 period is theory and the remaining 15 periods are practice. Previously, students mainly drew according to the models given by the lecturer, but now the teaching method has been innovated, students are free to choose topics according to their preferences as long as the lines, shapes and color coordination are correct, the painting has aesthetic and humanistic values”. At the end of the subject, students submit their products for the lecturer to grade. Any outstanding works are kept to display in the school's gallery.

Student Nguyen Thi Trong was born and raised in the coastal area of Dien Chau, so the image of fishing boats, the image of mothers and sisters in the fishing village struggling to carry fish to sell in all the markets, the image of grandfathers and grandchildren, fathers and sons gathering together to cast nets as if to remove each hardship has been imprinted in her mind, becoming a familiar theme in her paintings. Unlike Trong, her classmate Phan Thi Hoa loves the colorful brocade dresses of Thai women in the highlands. Although she only knows about Thai costumes through books, television and a few field trips, those patterns and colors have captivated the young student, and then the image of the weaving frame appears in a very familiar frame... Each painting is a vivid slice of colorful life. There, young people are free to create and express their love of life according to their own senses. They yearn to express and affirm their ego in every line and color; is a heart passionate about life and burning with passion for life.

In the past, talking about artistic work meant hard work, hardship, and sometimes even trade-offs, and fine arts is no exception. Although they have only taken their first steps into the path of art, the students of the Faculty of Fine Arts are all used to confining themselves to the canvas all day and all night, struggling with each line. After a long time without drawing, they miss their pencil cases and palettes so much that their passion grows over time. Gradually, it is difficult for anyone to give up. When students register for the Fine Arts major, most of them have a love and a little talent for painting. When they come into contact with people with similar interests, and are enthusiastically guided and instructed by teachers, they are like green shoots that are nurtured and cared for, and then their love turns into a passion and becomes a career for the rest of their lives. Young talents that are nurtured, nurtured and shine are always a stepping stone, creating inspiration and enthusiasm for them to firmly step on the path to the future. Recently, “Shoe Shine Boy” - one of the works that won the First Prize in school-level scientific research has left a deep impression on viewers. The image of a boy with an innocent face sitting on a brick shining shoes for customers on the sidewalk and forgetting the hustle and bustle of people. The pitiful innocent boy was sketched by author Nguyen Thi Trong with warm colors and soft lines that made viewers feel sad. The author must be a very delicate and sensitive person to feel the innocent and carefree features on the face of the shoe shine boy. Each picture is like a heartbeat beating before the many aspects of everyday life, full of hardships and contradictions, but also full of love. The authors have sketched the young soul with a young look and a young enthusiasm that is boiling to create and contribute.

Then, after graduating, these young people will be on the podium to teach their passion to children or be present on sunny and windy construction sites, diligently working in art galleries to paint beautiful and meaningful pictures of life...
