Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam folk songs nominated as one of 10 cultural, sports and tourism events
(Baonghean.vn) - On December 25, in Hanoi, the Organizing Committee for the vote for 10 cultural, sports and tourism events announced 15 nominations for the event.

Accordingly, the event of Nghe Tinh folk songs, Vi and Giam, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity is on the nomination list.

In the nomination introduction, the Organizing Committee assessed that Vi and Giam folk songs occupy an important position in the cultural and spiritual life of Nghe Tinh people, and are an artistic means to express thoughts and feelings, enhance communication and community cohesion. The fact that Vi and Giam folk songs of Nghe Tinh are recognized by UNESCO shows that the world highly values this special type of music, and will help the community and local authorities to be more responsible in preserving, educating, and encouraging the younger generation to actively study and participate in performing, in order to preserve and promote the heritage in a sustainable way.
Some other nominations were made such as: Resolution of the 9th Conference of the 11th Central Executive Committee (Resolution 33-NQ/TW) on building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development; Trang An scenic complex (Ninh Binh) was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO; Mobile propaganda festival "Vietnam's borders and islands" with more than 2,000 propagandists, affirming the sacred sovereignty of the country's seas and islands; Hanoi International Film Festival III-2014 with 130 films selected from 32 countries and territories, attracting more than 30,000 audiences....
Voting for 10 typical cultural, sports and tourism events of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is an important annual activity to evaluate and honor typical events in the fields of culture, sports, tourism and family organized by the Ministry.

According to the representative of the organizing committee, the top 10 typical events of 2014 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will vote for individual events, not a series of events. Notably, this year the management agency will not be directly involved in the voting.
