Artist Han Van Tinh plays Chu Van Quynh - a foolish, stubborn, alcoholic but essentially a good person. Quynh changes completely when he is loved. With his catchphrase: "Can't postpone that happiness", Chu Van Quynh has become the most remembered character in the film.

A year and a half ago, he was diagnosed with lung cancer. The artist underwent treatment and overcame the disease, continuing to perform. Since the beginning of the year, the disease has relapsed, forcing the artist to undergo two rounds of radiation therapy because the tumor has metastasized to the armpit and brain. These days, artist Han Van Tinh is trying to recover his health.

The late artist Tuan Duong plays the role of Cao - a somewhat naive and gentle commune police chief.

During the time off from chemotherapy, he still goes to film. The artist tries to maintain a normal life. On days with good weather, he goes for a walk with friends. Artist Duy Hau plays Trinh Ham - the head of the family with feudalistic and patriarchal thoughts ingrained in his blood, along with scheming and calculating. His role on film is harsh, but in real life he is a gentle person. For more than 30 years, artist Duy Hau has lived alone after his wife and children went to Germany and never returned. At the age of over 70, the artist also has to fight kidney disease. There was a time when he fell seriously ill and went to the hospital alone, going to the operating table himself. The actor also appeared in the films "Waves at the bottom of the river", "Street stories", "Candles in the night"...

In addition to the actors with unfortunate fates, the film also features many familiar faces of Vietnamese television. Phu Don plays Quang - the younger brother of Chu Van Quynh. In real life, Phu Don is the son of artist Lai Phu Cuong. Since childhood, he followed his father to perform plays, so acting has also seeped into his blood. He has worked at the Vietnam Drama Theater for many years. Engrossed in work, Phu Don only got married at the age of 45 to someone 25 years younger than him. Currently at the age of 56, he has a happy family with two children - a boy and a girl.

Artist Hong Chuong plays the role of the great-grandfather in the film. The artist is 83 years old this year, living a comfortable life with his wife and son's family in Hanoi. His image of white hair and beard and gentle smile has made him known as the "Buddha" of Vietnamese cinema.
