(Baonghean.vn) - Once a close associate of drug lord Nguyen Duc Luong, after being released from prison, Le Sy Nhan returned to his old ways, setting up a drug trafficking route from Que Phong for consumption.

Hoang Mai Town Police have just successfully cracked Project 117M, arresting Le Sy Nhan (born in 1954, hamlet 20, Quynh Vinh commune, Hoang Mai town) for illegal possession of narcotics. Nhan is one of the top suspects, having been part of the transnational drug ring of boss Nguyen Duc Luong in Dien Chau district nearly 10 years ago.

When mentioning Nguyen Duc Luong, everyone will surely remember the notorious drug lord and the leader of a transnational drug trafficking ring. In the late 20th century, Luong disguised himself as a farm owner in Dien Chau to run a drug factory with more than 100 drug cakes and over 300 kilograms of opium, causing a stir in public opinion.

Among Luong's trusted followers, Le Sy Nhan was a prominent figure, operating extremely recklessly, and was assigned many important missions by the boss. After this network was destroyed, Nguyen Duc Luong and 5 other subjects were sentenced to death, 10 defendants received life sentences. Le Sy Nhan alone was sentenced to 9 years in prison by the People's Court of Nghe An province. In 2009, Le Sy Nhan was released from prison.

Already having a reputation in the underworld, combined with the deadly magic of drugs, made Nhan get involved once again. Not only that, Le Sy Nhan was a long-time addict, so to get drugs to use, he would do anything.

After a period of inaction to observe the situation, Nhan began to connect with drug suppliers in Que Phong to find sources of goods. With his experience, Nhan operated in a sophisticated and cunning manner to deceive the police force.

In early 2017, after finding a reliable source of goods, Nhan personally went to Que Phong to make transactions, taking the goods to Hoang Mai to sell to drug addicts in Quynh Luu and Thanh Hoa districts. To avoid detection, Nhan's network operated in a closed manner, he only delivered goods to people he knew and trusted, and did not sell to other individuals.

Faced with that situation, Hoang Mai Town Police established Project 117M to combat Le Sy Nhan's illegal drug trafficking. After a period of monitoring, one day at the end of April 2017, the Task Force decided to crack the case when it was determined that Nhan had just picked up goods and was about to deliver them to a customer.

When Nhan arrived at Cau Go area in hamlet 15, Quynh Vinh commune, the working group came and caught him red-handed. Searching his body, the police found 37.2 grams of heroin. Continuing to search Nhan's residence in hamlet 20, Quynh Vinh commune, the police seized some more evidence used for drug use and trafficking.

Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Hoang Mai Town is continuing to investigate and expand the case.
