Song Lam Nghe An stars 'fuel' young players at Nghe An Newspaper Cup
(Baonghean.vn) - During the exchange program at Nghe An Newspaper, young players from 32 teams had the opportunity to listen to Coach Nguyen Duc Thang and 3 football stars Tran Nguyen Manh, Phan Van Duc, Pham Xuan Manh share their experiences about the opportunity to become SLNA players and their memories of the tournament.

After the press conference and draw for the group stage on the afternoon of June 10, the Organizing Committee of the 2019 Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth Football Tournament held an exchange program with coaches and players of Song Lam Nghe An Club.
Participating in the exchange program were Mr. Nguyen Duc Thang, Head Coach of Song Lam Nghe An Football Club; players Tran Nguyen Manh, Phan Van Duc, Pham Xuan Manh; young players of 32 TN-ND football teams participating in the tournament.
Professional Footballer - Childhood Dream
At the exchange program, the stars of the Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth Football Tournament in previous years - and now stars of Vietnamese Football - told interesting stories about their childhood when they first came to love football, played in the Newspaper Cup and were recruited to the Song Lam Nghe An Football Club.

"In my hometown Do Luong, everyone loves sports. For children, football is an endless passion. Every afternoon, the children organize "Super Classic" matches in the neighborhood yard, village yard...
When we were selected to the district team to compete in the Bao Cup in Vinh city, we were very excited because it was the first time we went to the city and stayed in a hotel. After winning the championship, the teachers took us to Cua Lo to play, that was the first time we got to swim in the sea.
When I was selected by the club, my parents supported me so I was determined to pursue my passion. Persevering in training will eventually lead to success. For my success today, I will always thank coach Truong Quang Vinh, the coaches at Song Lam Nghe An Football Club and the Bao Cup."

On the day of the Youth Football Tournament for the Nghe An Newspaper Cup, Pham Xuan Manh and his friends were taken to Vinh to compete by tractor. The whole team sat on the back of the truck... That year, the Children's team was a very strong team. My team lost to Do Luong Children's team in the final match.
When I played in the tournament, I had no idea about professional football, I just liked it and played because I was passionate about it. My parents forbade it, but I still often sneaked out to play football. After I was called to join the Song Lam Nghe An Football Club, my parents supported me wholeheartedly. My mother was the one who often followed me when I played in the tournaments... When I joined Song Lam, my idol was Van Quyen."

Since I was little, I have been passionate about football. When I participated in the Bao Cup, I really liked it, I just wanted to get into the match right away to compete with my friends; I just wanted to win the highest prize... At Song Lam Nghe An Football Club, coach Ngo Quang Truong was the one who had a great influence on me, when he guided me from the U15-U21 group".

At the meeting, Coach Nguyen Duc Thang highly appreciated the efforts of Nghe An Newspaper in organizing football tournaments over the past 22 years. The Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth - Children Football Tournament is the source of young talents, making a great contribution to the Club.
Coach Nguyen Duc Thang has arranged the Outstanding Stars team that grew up from the Nghe An Newspaper Cup in a 4-4-2 formation: Goalkeeper Duong Hong Son; 4 defenders: Que Ngoc Hai, Pham Xuan Manh, Hoang Van Khanh, Tran Dinh Hoang; 4 midfielders: Le Quoc Vuong, Nguyen Trong Hoang, Phan Xuan Duc, Nguyen Cong Phuong; 2 strikers: Pham Van Quyen and Le Cong Vinh.

Coach Nguyen Duc Thang also shared his joy and happiness when he was a player, then became the coach of a football team with a rich identity, "all from Nghe An"... He also shared about the current methods of recruiting young players of Song Lam Nghe An Football Club, which are: On-site recruitment, recruitment announcement, setting up an amateur training center. The criteria that candidates need to have are: Technique, football thinking, physical shape.
