Russia's ruling party supports Putin's re-election
The United Russia party will support President Vladimir Putin if he decides to run for re-election, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on November 30.

According toReuters, in an interview on a live TV show yesterday, Russian Prime Minister Medvedev said: "Our party (United Russia Party) and I personally will support him in every possible way if he intends to run for re-election. Because we believe that he is an excellent president to steer the country."
President Putin has so far kept quiet about whether he intends to run for re-election, although the election is due to take place in March next year.
The RBC business daily last month quoted a federal official familiar with the Kremlin as saying that President Putin “has decided to run for re-election.” The source said Putin could launch his re-election campaign before the ruling United Russia party’s congress on December 22-23.
Another source familiar with the matter told RBC that the Kremlin is considering launching President Putin's re-election campaign in early January.
