Republicans seek every way to protect President Trump from impeachment inquiry

According to a VNA reporter in Washington, Republican House members plan to summon Hunter Biden, son of former US Vice President Joe Biden, along with several other witnesses, as the impeachment investigation launched by the Democratic Party against President Donald Trump has entered a new public phase.

In a letter sent to Democratic Congressman Adam Schiff - Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Mr. Devin Nunes - the leading Republican Congressman on this Committee, stated: "The American people clearly see this fake impeachment process, despite the efforts of the Democratic Party to legitimize the impeachment investigation process last week."

"In order to bring transparency to your opaque and unfair process, and after consulting with the ranking member of the House Oversight and Reform Committee, Representative Jim Jordan, and the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Representative Michael McCaul, the American people deserve to hear from witnesses, including Hunter Biden, in a public hearing," Mr. Devin Nunes emphasized.

Regarding the whistleblower's request for a hearing, Mr. Devin noted that: "President Trump needs an opportunity to confront his accusers."

In addition, Republican Congressmen also plan to summon Hunter Biden's business partner, Devon Archer, to testify.

Mr. Devon Archer is an American businessman and former Advisor to former US Secretary of State John Kerry.

Previously, in a symbolic move to strongly defend President Donald Trump against the impeachment investigation related to his phone call with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskiy last July, the White House planned to recruit two more advisers to join the communications team.

On November 6, a senior US official said the two chosen people were Mr. Pam Bondi, former Attorney General of Florida, a politician close to President Trump, and Mr. Tony Sayegh, former spokesman for the US Secretary of the Treasury./.
