- On the first day after returning from Laos, Tan called me to tell me about the incident. At that time, because he knew about the temporary ban on performing, Tan also wanted to ask me to sing for the July 27th anniversary program at the Opera House. When the incident spread in the newspapers, many reporters asked but I did not say anything. I wanted to listen to many perspectives before expressing my own opinion.
In my opinion, the incident of Tan and Tho leaving was not right. But as People's Artist Trung Kien said, was it necessary to make such a fuss about it? Was it too hasty to issue an order? Of course, we must be people with ideals and love for the country when we sing revolutionary songs. Otherwise, how could we sing those songs well?...
So there are opinions that hastily concluded that Trong Tan and Anh Tho left the recent incident because of their poor political awareness. I think that is a somewhat emotional judgment and an exaggerated point of view. I do not defend the artists, but clearly, in this incident, we have to look at the matter from both sides.

In your opinion, what is the most appropriate disciplinary action taken by the Academy and the Department?
- When this incident became a big deal on social media, the audience did not know what was right or wrong, many people joined in using harsh words for both Tan and Tho, I read it and felt sad for my friend. With what people see, Trong Tan and Anh Tho are still temporarily banned from performing.
Therefore, if the Academy of Music has taken action and made it public to the press, I think the Department of Performing Arts or specifically the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (where the official order is required) should also proactively and soon officially announce whether or not to ban Tan and Tho from performing (with a clear time limit) so that the audience can clearly know.
Although I did not say it, I sympathized with my two colleagues. They had lived through stressful and anxious days. We should not continue to make them wait any longer. But whatever the outcome, I think this incident is a lifelong lesson for Tan and Tho in particular, and for many singers working in the singing field in general.

- I must confess that for me, being able to participate in the program "What remains forever" organized by VietNamNet newspaper on the afternoon of September 2nd for the past few years has been a great honor. This year, musician Duong Thu arranged for me to perform the famous epic "Song Lo" with Duyen Huyen with the support of the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra, which was indeed a great challenge.
In fact, Duyen Huyen and I have sung together many times. But we have never sung together with an orchestra. Duyen Huyen is a young face but has received a relatively good basic training. This is the first time the song Song Lo has been performed as a duet. With the new idea of musician Duong Thu, we hope to respond to everyone's expectations.

- I have worked with Mr. Le Phi Phi and found it necessary. The conductor is the one with the highest authority in an orchestra. - Yes, I am lucky because in recent years my wife has stayed behind to take care of me and the children. We just had a new baby boy who is only 7 months old. (laughs). Honestly, my wife also cares about everything from my clothes for performances to my homework.
There is a funny story like this. In the past, my wife sang pop music and did not care about or like red music, but after meeting, falling in love, marrying and living with me, she also loved the music I pursued. Now she even does not like pop music, only likes red music like me.
Your wife works in the media but it seems like you rarely appear in articles?
- My wife is a broadcaster and sometimes also a director at VOV. The place we work is a real media agency, but I am not the type of person who likes to be in the press. Moreover, singers who sing in the mainstream like me do not like noise.
