(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of February 1, leaders of Quynh Luu district organized an incense offering ceremony at the Ho family's ancestral temple in Ngoc Son commune.

The ancestor of the Ho family in Vietnam was Mr. Ho Duong Dat, a member of the Bach Viet lineage, born in Vu Lam, Zhejiang province - China. He passed the imperial examination under Emperor Han An and became a governor in Chau Dien, then resigned from office to become the owner of the Bao Dot incense farm in Quynh Luu district. He was a man of high virtue and talent, full of humanity, he left his descendants a legacyGreat Migration.

Over the course of a thousand years of nation building, more than 40 generations of Ho descendants spread from North to South have promoted their intellectual abilities, spirit and traditional morality of the family, contributing to the cause of protecting and building the Fatherland of Vietnam, which is recorded in national history. Typical examples include King Ho Quy Ly - an outstanding reformer, first-rank laureate Ho Tong Thoc - a great historian, female poet Ho Xuan Huong - the queen of Nom poetry... In the year of Quy Mui, the first reign of Khai Dai (1403), King Ho Han Thuong built a shrine to worship his ancestors, but unfortunately the shrine gradually fell into disrepair.

To commemorate the ancestors' merits, today, Ho descendants across the country have contributed their efforts and money to build this memorial as a place of worship./.
