Offering incense to commemorate the 100th birthday of General Nguyen Chi Thanh
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of General Nguyen Chi Thanh's birth (January 1, 1914 - January 1, 2014), on the afternoon of December 30, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front of Thua Thien - Hue solemnly held a ceremony to offer incense and pay tribute to General Nguyen Chi Thanh at the General Nguyen Chi Thanh Monument Park (Sia town, Quang Dien district).

At the ceremony, former General Secretary Le Kha Phieu, leaders of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front, Military Command, Provincial Border Guard, Veterans Association, departments, branches, Quang Dien district and the General's family offered wreaths in memory of General Nguyen Chi Thanh, an outstanding son of the nation, an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh; a loyal and exemplary communist; a typical senior leader of the Party and State, a shining example of a cadre who devoted himself to serving the Fatherland and the people; a talented general who worked hard to build a strong People's Army.

Also at the ceremony, many provincial leaders, departments, organizations and people of Quang Dien district and Thua Thien - Hue expressed their respect of today's generation for the great contributions of the General in the cause of national liberation.
