Offering incense and banh chung at the tomb of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of February 13, 2016, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with Nghe An Tourism Association to organize a ceremony to offer flowers, incense and banh chung to pay respect to Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan - mother of President Ho Chi Minh at the tomb on Dai Hue mountain, in Nam Giang commune, Nam Dan district.

Attending and chairing the incense offering ceremony were comrade Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Phung Quang Thang - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association and Mr. Hoang Trung Chau - Chairman of the Nghe An Tourism Association.

Also attending the ceremony were representatives of hotels who are members of the Nghe An Tourism Association, representatives of the Nguyen Sinh and Hoang families in Kim Lien; representatives of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province, leaders of Nam Dan district and Nam Giang commune.

Comrade Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee read the opening speech, highly appreciating the traditional educational significance of the Banh Chung Offering Ceremony organized by Nghe An Tourism Association.

Before that, at Saigon - Kim Lien Hotel, there was a banh chung wrapping contest and art performances, lion dances to welcome. After the opening ceremony at Saigon Kim Lien Hotel, banh chung was brought to the tomb of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan for the offering ceremony and incense offering.

Award Certificates of Merit to units with outstanding achievements in participating in the Festival.

Mr. Vuong Anh Tuan - Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Saigon Kim Lien Hotel Company beat the drum to open the festival.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee welcomed and highly appreciated the significance of the festival in educating the tradition of "remembering the source of water when drinking" and the morality of "remembering the person who planted the tree when eating the fruit" of the nation.

Welcoming the gratitude activities of Nghe An Tourism Association, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that Nghe An Tourism Association will organize the festival well, increase propaganda and widely disseminate it so that the majority of people will know, thereby contributing to educating the tradition of patriotism, the exemplary example of hard work of Vietnamese mother - Ms. Hoang Thi Loan for the young generation, promoting Nghe An tourism brand and successfully implementing the campaign to study and follow the moral example of Ho Chi Minh.

Many Buddhist monks and nuns attended and watched the procession of banh chung to the tomb of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan.

Provincial leaders and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism check the Chung cake offerings before entering the ceremony.

Dignitaries representing the Executive Committee of Vietnam Buddhism in Nghe An and people participated in the ceremony and enjoyed the landscape and space of Hoang Thi Loan's tomb.

Provincial leaders and representatives of the Vietnam Tourism Association, representatives of the Nguyen Sinh and Hoang families and leaders of Nam Giang commune attended the incense offering ceremony in memory of Ms. Hoang Thi Loan.

The senior monks representing the Executive Committee of Vietnam Buddhism in Nghe An held a ceremony to pray for national peace, prosperity and happiness for the people.

Immediately after the incense offering and banh chung offering ceremony at Hoang Thi Loan's tomb, the banh chung offerings were cut and distributed by the Organizing Committee to the people to enjoy.

After the Banh Chung cutting ceremony, the representative of the Nghe An Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee gave the cake to the representative of Nam Giang and Nam Dan communes.

Comrade Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee talked and gave banh chung to people attending the ceremony.

Many festival visitors happily enjoyed banh chung.

It is known that this is the 4th year Saigon - Kim Lien Hotel has organized the Chung cake offering ceremony at the tomb of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan on the morning of January 6th.
