Nghe An promotes investment and tourism potential at Vietnam - China Forum

Strengthening exchange and cooperation

The Forum was also attended by the Vietnamese Embassy in China, representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs - Cultural Diplomacy, leaders of Nghe An, Quang Tri, Tay Ninh provinces; representatives of the China - ASEAN Center, the China Electromechanical Products Import and Export Chamber, the Vietnam - China Business Council and many businesses from Vietnam and China. The Forum was attended by 250 delegates from the two countries, of which about 100 delegates were from Vietnam and 150 delegates were from China.

In his opening speech, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to China Pham Thanh Binh emphasized: The Forum is held in the context of the two countries celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations and the Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year 2025. Implementing the common perception of the two Parties and two countries' senior leaders on building a community of shared future for Vietnam and China with strategic significance in the direction of "6 more", economic and investment cooperation between Vietnam and China has been actively implemented in recent times, continuing to achieve impressive results, becoming a bright spot in the relationship between the two countries.

The forum is a good opportunity for Nghe An, Tay Ninh, and Quang Tri to promote their potential, advantages, and preferential policies, connect directly with Chinese enterprises, and work towards specific cooperation projects. The Ambassador highly appreciated and believed that Nghe An, Quang Tri, and Tay Ninh provinces, with their young, abundant, and high-quality workforce; open, investor-friendly policy environment; strategic geographical location, and synchronous infrastructure (seaports convenient for transportation and logistics), will play an active role in realizing cooperation goals, bringing practical benefits to both sides. The Vietnamese Embassy in China is committed to accompanying and effectively supporting cooperation activities, creating the most favorable conditions for exchanges between localities and enterprises of the two countries.

At the Forum, Mr. Su Trung Tuan - Secretary General of the China - ASEAN Center emphasized that China is the largest trade partner and also an important investor of ASEAN; the cooperation between Vietnam and China within the framework of ASEAN is increasingly deepening, bringing practical benefits to the business community and people of the two countries. He affirmed that the China - ASEAN Center is ready to play a bridging role, promoting trade, investment and tourism promotion activities, in which Nghe An, Quang Tri and Tay Ninh provinces have great potential to cooperate with Chinese localities and enterprises.

Mr. Truong Ngoc Tinh - Chairman of the China Electromechanical Products Import and Export Chamber also spoke, saying that the electromechanical and supporting industries are a promising direction for cooperation between Chinese enterprises and Vietnamese localities. Nghe An, with its advantages in industrial park infrastructure, abundant labor resources and attractive incentive policies, can become a strategic investment destination for electromechanical manufacturing and processing enterprises and high-tech industries.

At the Forum, leaders of Chinese enterprises such as Mr. Nghiem Gioi Hoa - Chairman of Pacific Group; Mr. Ngo Tieu Sanh - Founder, CEO of Bang Ky Smart Technology Development Co., Ltd.; Mr. Cat Quoc Kha - Deputy Head of the Foreign Affairs Office, Trung Hung Telecommunications Group (ZTE); Mr. Do Ba Diem, Senior Manager of Foreign Government Relations Department, Lieu Cong Quang Tay Mechanical Machinery Company; Mr. Duong Dung, Chief Representative of Vietnam - China Business Council in Beijing gave speeches, in which they highly appreciated the potential and opportunities for cooperation with Vietnam. In particular, Nghe An is considered a strategic destination thanks to its advantages in industrial park infrastructure, abundant labor resources and attractive investment incentives.

Strengthening connection for mutual development

On behalf of Nghe An province, comrade Phung Thanh Vinh gave an overview of the geographical location, potential, and socio-economic achievements, emphasizing that China has been the province's largest trade partner for many consecutive years, with an export turnover in 2024 reaching more than 547 million USD.

In the first 6 months of 2025, it reached nearly 400 million USD. China is the leading FDI investor in Nghe An. By August 2025, Nghe An had attracted 64 FDI projects from China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan with a total registered capital of 4.1 billion USD, accounting for 70% of the total FDI capital in economic zones and industrial parks. In addition, more than 21,000 Nghe An workers went to work in China in the period of 2023-2024, contributing to enhancing people-to-people exchanges.

In the tourism sector, Nghe An owns many outstanding destinations such as Kim Lien National Historical Site, Cua Lo Beach, Pu Mat National Park. The number of Chinese tourists to Nghe An has grown strongly, showing the attractiveness of this destination. With the motto "Nghe An - Destination of Success", the province is committed to creating an open investment environment with many preferential policies, synchronous infrastructure and strong reform of administrative procedures.

At the Forum, the signing ceremony of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) took place between Vietnamese localities and Chinese partners, including the Nghe An Department of Foreign Affairs with the Vietnam - China Business Council (VCBC). The cooperation agreement will promote trade promotion, investment and technology transfer activities between Nghe An province and Chinese enterprises; cooperation activities in culture, tourism and education - training between Nghe An and international partners through the VCBC bridge; mobilize social resources, especially from the Vietnamese - Chinese business community, to support Nghe An province in developing focusing on green economy, digital economy and high-tech industry and other economic sectors.

Some specific areas such as calling for and connecting investors in the field of manufacturing and processing industry in the fields of high technology, renewable energy, clean energy and green technology, semiconductor technology and high-performance computing, synthetic biotechnology, ocean technology (undersea robots, deep-sea resource exploitation), e-commerce and smart logistics, new generation artificial intelligence and high-tech agriculture; organizing conferences, forums, exhibitions at home and abroad to promote the potential and investment opportunities of Nghe An; supporting the province in sharing databases on enterprises, import-export products, trade policies and related legal regulations; cooperating with universities and research institutes of China and other countries to train high-quality human resources in Nghe An.

After the Forum, delegates participated in the Vietnam - China Friendship Exchange Program, a cultural event that attracted the attention of delegates with performances of Vietnamese art, music, fashion and cuisine, contributing to deepening mutual understanding and friendship between the people of the two countries.
