"Party members go first" in Huoi Cam
(Baonghean) -Huoi Cam village of Nam Nhoong commune (Que Phong) still faces many difficulties, of which 60 out of 73 households are poor. In 2011, the village Party cell issued a resolution to develop household economy, with the motto that party members go first and households with conditions help households in difficulty...
Mr. Lu Tat Xuyen - Head of Huoi Cam village met us, excited: Now, more or less, every household in the whole village has found an area for raising livestock and producing. It is all thanks to the Party Secretary of Moong Thai Xuyen commune (Mr. Xuyen lives in Huoi Cam village). He is a good worker, so the whole village listens and follows what he says.

The people of Huoi Cam village are the Khmu ethnic group. Previously, the economic activities of each family encountered many difficulties and deadlocks due to the small amount of fields and livestock that were often affected by diseases. The pioneer in developing the household economy is the family of Mr. Moong Thai Xuyen - Secretary of the Commune Party Committee. Five years ago, he borrowed 30 hectares of hilly and forest land from some households in the commune, creating a livestock and production area far from residential areas. There, Mr. Xuyen raised more than 100 pigs and dozens of black chickens at times, dug ponds to raise fish, and combined them with afforestation. When the model brought high economic efficiency, he actively encouraged people to follow his example to stabilize their lives.
The people he directly mobilized and reminded the most were the Party Cell Secretary and the Village Chief of Huoi Cam. As a cadre and party member, if you want people to listen to you and follow you, you must be the pioneer. Following Mr. Xuyen's words, Party Cell Secretary Lu Ha Duong and Village Chief Lu Tat Xuyen traveled into the valleys to find a favorable place to zone off for economic activities. When they found a suitable place, in their free time, the Secretary and Village Chief walked for nearly an hour from their house to the camp to raise pigs, grow cassava, reclaim rice fields, etc. Seeing this, all the villagers followed suit.
With the consensus of the Commune Party Committee, in early 2011, the Huoi Cam Party Cell developed a resolution on household economic development. The resolution stipulated that each household must have its own economic farm, far from the village. The form of economic development is to reclaim rice fields, plant forests, raise buffaloes, cows, pigs, chickens, etc. It is mandatory that each household must have 2 or more sows to develop a herd of young pigs for sale to the market. With the motto of party members going first, the village has 73 households, divided into 9 economic groups, each group has a party member in charge.
Village Chief Lu Tat Xuyen said: Originating from the lack of jobs for the people, and the livestock in the village always being affected by diseases and unsanitary conditions, the village Party cell issued a resolution to develop the household economy. All the people agreed to respond. During the implementation process, households with conditions must be responsible for helping households in difficulty. In this way, households without pigs will be given a breeding sow by a better-off household to raise. After the pig gives birth to the first litter, the entire number of piglets will be enjoyed by the family, and the sow will be returned to the owner. For example, the family of Village Chief Lu Tat Xuyen, in early 2013, helped 2 households, Vi Van Tam and Moong Van Xanh, each receiving 1 breeding sow. Recently, the pigs of the 2 families gave birth to 9 piglets each. After that, these 2 families returned the breeding pig to Mr. Xuyen's family.
Thanks to that method, up to now, all households in Huoi Cam village have their own economic development farms, each household has sows to raise. The pig herd in Huoi Cam village is increasing day by day. Not only doing farm economy, Huoi Cam villagers also learn from Mr. Moong Thai Xuyen how to improve garden land, grow vegetables and fruits. Currently, most households in the village have been able to enclose garden land to grow green vegetables, improving their daily meals.
In the Party cell, Hoc Van Hoi was the pioneer. Implementing the resolution, in early 2012, Mr. Hoc went to the Huoi Cam stream area, zoning off the area to promote livestock and farming. After more than a year, his family had many products to sell in the market, had money to buy motorbikes, televisions, etc. The family economy gradually stabilized.
Since 2012, Huoi Cam village has strived to reduce the number of poor households by 5-6 per year. And originating from the household economic movement, the movement to build new rural areas here is also the strongest in the commune. Recently, the villagers have voluntarily donated land to open roads along the entire length of 424 meters of the village road. With the support of the State, the villagers have poured concrete for 360 meters. And the implementation of the resolution on economic development of the village party cell is also a solution that actively contributes to the local construction movement in the coming time.
