Defeating U19 Australia, Vietnam won a ticket to the 2014 U19 Asian Cup Finals

A shock happened at Kuala Lumpur stadium: U19 Vietnam defeated U19 Australia with a score of 5-1. A score that surprised many Vietnamese and continental fans.

U19 Australia is not an easy opponent. It should be noted that in their squad, there are 7 players who have grown up in European training centers. In addition, the country's football achievements are enough to make teams on the continent wary when facing them.

However, it seems that coach Guilaume Graechen and his players were not afraid of U19 Australia. They even took the initiative to attack right after the referee's whistle. And they were soon rewarded. In the 9th minute, from a central attack, Tuan Anh took the ball and broke through 2 opposing midfielders, then passed it to Cong Phuong, who scored against U19 Australia, 1-0 for U19 Vietnam. Cong Phuong's early goal stunned U19 Australia. They played without concentration and had to pay the price for another goal in the 16th minute. From the middle, Thanh Tung stole the ball from U19 Australia before unleashing a wonderful left-footed shot, raising the score to 2-0 for U19 Vietnam.

Two early goals helped our players play more excitedly. The central and sideline combinations were executed smoothly and made the U19 Australia defense miserable. In the 44th minute, Tuan Anh initiated another beautiful combination, Cong Phuong passed to Van Toan to run down and finish diagonally, raising the score to 3-0 for U19 Vietnam.

In the final seconds of the first half, U19 Australia unexpectedly scored a goal to reduce the score to 1-3. The player who scored was Skapetis, after a well-coordinated central situation. However, Skapetis' goal was also the only bright spot of U19 Australia against U19 Vietnam...

Because, in the second half, with superior technique, it can be said that they completely dominated the match. The one-touch passing moves, or the technical situations of U19 Vietnam made it impossible for U19 Australia players to counter.

Even in the 55th minute, Cong Phuong raised the score to 4-1. He had a beautiful solo play, passing two opposing players and then fired a long shot about 20 meters. The ball went straight into the opponent's net. A classy and beautiful goal by the player wearing the number 10 shirt.

Cong Phuong's beautiful goal almost drowned all hopes of U19 Australia. And in the 70th minute, Le Van Son successfully executed the penalty, thereby raising the score to 5-1 for U19 Vietnam. This was the situation where U19 Vietnam was awarded a penalty after Lam Ti Phong was fouled in the penalty area. Le Van Son's goal was also the last goal of this match.

At the end of the match, U19 Vietnam defeated U19 Australia with a score of 5-1. We won 9 points and topped Group F. Thus, U19 Vietnam won a direct ticket to the U19 Asian Cup finals held in Myanmar in 2014. We are the first team to do this.
