Bombing, machine gun fire in Egypt, at least 75 people dead
Suspected militants have carried out a bomb and gun attack on a church in Egypt's North Sinai province, police have confirmed 75 people have been killed.
Sky News quoted information from the Egyptian Ministry of Health that up to 150 people were injured and dozens of ambulances were sent to the scene to evacuate the victims.

A state of emergency has been declared across Sinai, with ambulances dispatched to transport the victims to hospitals, the Jerusalem Post reported.
Witnesses told Egyptian media that the attack took place at a mosque in the al-Rawda area, near al-Arish, during Friday prayers. The attackers wore masks, some of them wearing explosive belts.

Egyptian defense officials said first a bomb exploded next to the church, then the attackers machine-gunned terrified people running from inside and escaped in a car.
The Sinai Peninsula has been plagued by violence, with clashes between Egyptian troops and jihadists loyal to the Islamic State (IS) group. There was also a recent militant attack on Egyptian soldiers.
