Initial assessment of the campaign "Traffic culture with river peace"

(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, May 3, the Steering Committee of the movement “Traffic culture with river peace” met to evaluate the results of implementation and approved the plan to build the movement in 2012. After the Provincial People's Committee issued a decision to establish a Steering Committee for the campaign "Traffic culture with river peace." The launching ceremony was held on August 31, 2011 at Nghe An Labor Culture House, creating a positive and strong response. Propaganda and mobilization work was stepped up. Organized for 1,750 people living on rivers and riverside to sign a commitment not to violate inland waterway traffic safety; reflected the current situation of traffic safety violations...

Nghe An Waterway Traffic Police organized 135 patrols and controls, detected and recorded 239 violations, fined and paid to the State Treasury more than 350 million VND, warned 40 cases, and suspended the operation of 14 unsafe passenger vehicles. The authorities inspected and corrected 90 points of exploitation and trading of sand, gravel, and riverbed minerals and corrected the operations at 55 wharves; 220 vehicles and watercraft operators.

In general, the initial campaign "Traffic culture with river peace" in the province has contributed to changing the awareness of all classes of people about ensuring traffic safety on waterways, reducing accidents on these traffic routes.

To effectively implement the campaign "Traffic culture with peaceful rivers" in 2012, the Steering Committee of the campaign has built a plan and objectives close to the actual situation, propagated and disseminated the Law on Inland Waterway Traffic to raise awareness for the community of each individual. At the same time, it has built advanced typical models of the movement "Traffic culture with peaceful rivers" such as: cultural fishing village model of rivers and seas, cultural port and wharf model,... to replicate, create a cultural environment in waterway traffic activities, contributing to preventing and reducing waterway traffic accidents.
