(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of March 29, in Con Cuong district, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee held a conference to review and evaluate the implementation results of the Project "Conservation and sustainable development of the Dan Lai ethnic minority living in the core area of Pu Mat National Park".
Attending the conference were Colonel Le Thai Ngoc - Deputy Chief of Political Department of the Border Guard Command. On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrade Le Xuan Dai - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, representatives of the Provincial Border Guard Command and related departments and agencies, along with leaders and departments of Con Cuong district.
Comrade Le Xuan Dai, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements.
The content of the project is to implement components and invest in production support, build infrastructure, housing, provide initial support after resettlement and preserve and develop culture. Up to now, implementing component 1 has built resettlement areas and organized the relocation of 146 households in 2 villages Khe Con, Bung (Mon Son commune) and resettlement areas of Ke Gia, Ke Tat and Ba Ha (Thach Ngan commune). Component 2 is to organize the stabilization of production and socio-cultural life for 30 households in Co Phat village (Mon Son commune) implemented by the Border Guard Command, Nghe An Border Guard Command. Component 3 is to build irrigation works associated with domestic water and integrate Program 135 to support plant and animal varieties for people to stabilize production, implemented by the People's Committee of Con Cuong district.
Assessing the results, delegates unanimously affirmed that the relocation of Dan Lai people to resettlement areas has basically solved the infrastructure problem, stabilized production and life. Initially, the risk of ethnic degradation was prevented, and the intellectual level and spiritual life of the people were improved. The work of protecting and developing forest capital has had clear changes, and border security has been maintained. However, the progress of surveying, project establishment and organization of the 2nd and 3rd phase of resettlement from the core area of Pu Mat National Park to new residences is still slow. The planning and project establishment for households staying in Co Phat and Bung villages (Mon Son commune) is still slow, affecting the construction of infrastructure. Backward customs are slowly eliminated, the poverty rate is still high, and the project to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of the Dan Lai ethnic group has not been implemented...
Concluding the conference, comrade Le Xuan Dai requested relevant departments and agencies to continue to do a good job of propaganda to effectively implement the policies of the Party and the State. Focus on directing the acceleration of the progress of resettlement area construction projects; continue to survey and plan for stable settlement for 98 households living in the core area of Pu Mat National Park. Request relevant departments and agencies to continue to establish component projects.
On this occasion, the Border Guard Command, the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Border Guard Executive Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to a number of collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the implementation of the project.
