List of Vietnam team preparing for AFF Cup: Thanh Hoa causes surprise, where is SLNA?
Coach Park Hang Seo sent a preliminary list of 40 players to the VFF yesterday, September 30. Along with this list, many clubs in the V-League have also been "tested" for information on players to be called up to the Vietnam national team to prepare for the AFF Cup 2018.
Initial information shows that Hanoi Club contributed the most players to this training session of the Vietnamese team.
According to the preliminary list, the capital team has 9 players including Do Duy Manh, Tran Dinh Trong, Nguyen Thanh Chung, Do Hung Dung, Pham Duc Huy, Nguyen Quang Hai, Doan Van Hau, Nguyen Van Quyet and Pham Van Thanh.
Most of them were called up to the Vietnam U23 team to participate in the recent Asiad.

The next surprise was that Thanh Hoa contributed 7 players, including Bui Tien Dung, Nguyen Minh Tung, Luc Xuan Hung, Ngo Hoang Thinh, Nguyen Trong Hoang, Le Van Thang and Vu Minh Tuan. Coach Park Hang Seo aimed for midfielders with high fighting spirit like Trong Hoang and Hoang Thinh in the Thanh team.
Than Quang Ninh also has 2 players participating, Duong Thanh Hao and Nghiem Xuan Tu. Notably, Nghiem Xuan Tu is currently the best passer in V-League, and this is the second time this player has been called up to the Vietnam national team, after the first time he was injured and had to return to his club.
For HAGL, familiar faces like Cong Phuong, Xuan Truong, Van Toan... are still present, but their numbers have "faded" compared to when coach Park first arrived in Vietnamese football.
From the preliminary list, it can be seen that the U23 Vietnam team that participated in the 2018 Asian Games is the backbone of the Vietnamese team, but coach Park Hang Seo has added many veterans to prepare for the 2018 AFF Cup campaign.
After the end of the 2018 season, the Vietnamese team gathered in Hanoi on October 16 and had a training trip in Korea to prepare for the AFF Cup 2018.
