Final list of Vietnam team for friendly match
On October 7, before leaving for China, coach Philippe Troussier officially announced the list of Vietnam's team for 3 friendly matches on FIFA Days in October 2023 against China, Uzbekistan and South Korea. This is considered the team's final practice for the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup in Asia in November. The French coach said that his principle for selecting personnel is based on the current physical condition of the players.

The announced list is a harmonious combination of young players and famous seniors on the Vietnam national team. Among them, two young players who are training with the national team for the first time have been trusted and given opportunities by the French strategist: Ho Van Cuong and Vo Minh Trong. With the young players given opportunities, Coach Troussier is aiming to build a core force to inherit for the second qualifying round, or even the 2026 World Cup.
Coach Philippe Troussier also caused a surprise when in the shortlist of the Vietnam team, the players who had to say goodbye in this training session of the Vietnam team included: Doan Van Hau, Le Van Do, Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Nguyen Duc Phu, Luong Duy Cuong, Cong Phuong.
In addition, the Vietnamese team's shortlist includes many players from Hanoi and Hai Phong clubs. These players have not had the best preparation time after serving their home teams in the AFC Cup and AFC Champions League.
According to the plan, the whole team will move to China early in the morning of October 8. The next three opponents of the Vietnamese team will be host China (ranked 80, October 10), Uzbekistan (ranked 75, October 13 in China) and host Korea (ranked 26, October 17).
Muay Queen Thanh Truc defends her championship title
Muay Queen Nguyen Thi Thanh Truc successfully defended her 52kg championship belt against Ho Thi Ngoc Bich with a leg-breaking technique at the 2023 Vietnam Professional MMA tournament.
In the final match of the 2023 MMA Championship women's 52kg class, Muay Queen Nguyen Thi Thanh Truc showed complete superiority over her opponent Ho Thi Ngoc Bich.

After a cage fight, Ngoc Bich successfully knocked Thanh Truc down. But the boxer counterattacked with a leg break. In the second round, Ngoc Bich successfully caught Thanh Truc's leg and knocked her down in the first minute. After getting on the floor, both of them simultaneously performed a leg break. Thanh Truc successfully ended the match at 2 minutes and 26 seconds, successfully defending her 52kg championship belt.
Previously, in the Southern qualifying round of MMA Championship 2022, Thanh Truc defeated Ngoc Bich by rear-naked choke. In the 2023 season, Ngoc Bich had 3 consecutive wins in 3 months against Nguyen Thi Thuy Vy, Do Thi Ngoc Han and Nguyen Thi Hien Luong and advanced to the rematch.
In another notable women's match, Chelsey Cashwell defeated Nguyen Thi Huong by arm breaking technique at 4 minutes 28 seconds of round 3.
In the 84kg category, 2019 World Sanshou Silver Medalist Pham Cong Minh won by technical knockout against Ngo Hong Giang.
Chinese sports dominate ASIAD 19 with record number of Gold Medals
With home advantage, the Chinese sports delegation completed their target of 200 gold medals. This number helped them break their own record from 13 years ago.
In previous Asian Games, it was no surprise that China topped the overall rankings. The team's goal has always been to break the Gold Medal records they set themselves. And this year, they conquered a new milestone: 200 Gold Medals. Specifically, China won a total of 381 medals, including 200 Gold, 110 Silver and 71 Bronze.

China's 200th gold medal went to Zheng Weitong in Chinese Chess. 13 years ago at the Asian Games in Guangzhou, they conquered the milestone of 199 gold medals, a record in the history of the Asian Games.
But now, with the advantage of being the host, China has done something even more extraordinary. 200 Gold Medals is a number that no other team has ever achieved at the Asian Games. To imagine how terrible this number is, fans can look at the Gold Medals won by the remaining teams. Japan ranked second with only 51 Gold Medals, equal to 1/4 of the host team.
South Korea has 1/5 of the number of Gold Medals that China won. Meanwhile, if you add up the top 10 teams in the overall rankings, it still cannot equal the number of Gold Medals that China won at the 19th ASIAD.
Despite failing in expected sports such as women's football, basketball... China still took full advantage of other strong sports to "pick gold". One of the host's gold mines is swimming. At the 19th ASIAD, Chinese athletes had an impressive performance in front of their home fans in Hangzhou. They won 28 gold medals.
Or in athletics, China won 19 Gold Medals, almost double the number of the second place team Bahrain. They also collected almost all the Gold Medals in gymnastics. There were 14 Gold Medals awarded in all events, of which the host took 8.
Overall, the 19th ASIAD was a comprehensively successful sporting event, from China's organization to its competition, and it demonstrated the country's position as the continent's number 1 sports nation.
Bellingham equals Ronaldo's record
With two goals scored against Osasuna, Bellingham has a total of 10 goals after 10 matches for Real Madrid in all competitions, equaling Cristiano Ronaldo's record in the same first season.
Before the match, Bellingham also received the award for Real Madrid's best player of September. With 2 goals in the first match of October against Osasuna, the young English star also won the title of best player of the match and it seems that the title of best player of October will hardly slip away from the hands of number 5 if he continues to play like this.

Besides Bellingham's brilliance, Vinicius Junior is also showing that he is in the best shape with 2 goals in 2 consecutive matches in all competitions for Real Madrid.
Coach Ancelotti has found his most satisfactory attacking framework with 2 strikers Vinicius Junior, Joselu and Bellingham playing as an attacking midfielder. This formula has brought Real Madrid their 4th consecutive victory, scoring 12 goals, of which Joselu contributed 3 goals, Vinicius 2 goals, and Bellingham 4 goals.
Man Utd won by luck
Hosting Brentford in round 8 of the Premier League, determined to win at home after two consecutive losses at Old Trafford against Crystal Palace (Premier League) and Galatasaray (Champions League), MU entered the match with great effort. However, Brentford showed that they were not afraid of a home team that has been playing very poorly recently.
Brentford's fast and fast attacks on the flanks caused MU's defense a lot of trouble, especially when the home team used an unfamiliar defense. Unlike Brentford's clear style of play, MU's attacking stars Rashford, Mount, Hojlund and Bruno Fernandes did not have any good coordination or finishing.
While MU were still busy searching for the opening goal, they conceded the first goal. In the 26th minute, a surprise happened at the "Theater of Dreams". Starting from Casemiro's wrong pass, Brentford counterattacked sharply and Jensen quickly finished to open the score for the away team.
Behind, MU was forced to push forward but against Brenford's organized defense, the home team had almost no effective solution to penetrate goalkeeper Strakosha's net. In the second half, Ten Hag brought Eriksen on to replace Casemiro and pulled Bruno Fernandes back to the middle of the field, helping the Red Devils' play to be much brighter.

With another good ball-playing player like Eriksen, MU also had more dangerous situations in front of Brentford's goal. However, the home team's decisive passes and final handling situations still could not shake the opponent's net.
Putting Antony, Garnacho and Martial on the field, MU played "all-in" against Brentford. But it was only when McTominay appeared that the goal came to MU. The Scottish star's double in the 90'+3 and 90'+7 minutes helped MU come back to win with a score of 2-1. With 12 points after 8 rounds, MU rose to 9th place in the 2023/24 Premier League rankings.
