Three young men committed about 20 thefts in Hanoi by pretending to be gas stove maintenance staff to take care of customers.

On November 1, the Hanoi People's Procuracy completed the indictment and transferred the case file to the Hanoi People's Court to prosecute Vu Van Minh (27 years old, in Thai Nguyen), Do Van Minh (29 years old) and On Van Sang (32 years old) for theft of property with the highest penalty being life imprisonment.

The prosecution agency alleged that from July 2014 to March 2016, the three defendants committed 20 thefts of money and gold with a total value of more than 1.3 billion VND in Hanoi.

The group's common trick was to pretend to be a gas stove repairman. On November 6, 2015, Minh and his accomplices went to a house in Nhan Chinh Ward (Thanh Xuan District) when they learned that in the morning only the old man and the maid were home.

In the role of a gas stove maintenance worker, Sang disassembled the stove and told the maid to take it to the backyard to wash. Do Van Minh instructed the homeowner to write a stove insurance receipt.

At this time, Vu Van Minh sneaked up to the second floor, broke open the cabinet and stole 160 million VND. Seeing his signal, the other two quickly "finished the job" and left the victim's house.

Sang and Do Van Minh understood and quickly left the victim's house.

According to the prosecution, Vu Van Minh once worked as an employee at gas stores.
