DirectorKong: Skull Islandand Ngo Thanh Van were rumored to have feelings for each other, when Vogt-Roberts used to live in Vietnam and hang out with some girls but only posted photos with Ngo Thanh Van on Instagram. He admitted to hearing this rumor but affirmed that Ngo Thanh Van was just "a passing moment in life".

But in terms of work, Vogt-Roberts has a lot of praise for Ngo Thanh Van and said she is the type of female filmmaker he looks up to. "She is a special, talented woman," he once said.

Currently, Ngo Thanh Van has not shared anything about the above compliment.
