'Kong: Skull Island' director reveals helicopter flying over Ninh Binh
Jordan Vogt-Roberts shared a video of the AS 350B3 helicopter on Instagram while production manager Alex Garcia posted a scene of birds flying over Van Long lagoon.
On March 11, director Jordan Vogt-Roberts shared on his personal Instagram many new images on the set of the blockbuster Kong: Skull Island in Ninh Binh. In it, the American filmmaker posted a short video revealing the scene of the AS 350B3 helicopter flying in the sky amidst the majestic, wild landscape. This is one of the important scenes filmed on location in Vietnam.

After more than a week of filming in Ninh Xuan commune, the film crew moved to Trang An and Van Long lagoon to film the final scenes before moving to the final setting, Ha Long Bay, on March 17.

Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts also enjoyed wading knee-deep in the Van Long lagoon scene. He always stood out on set in red and was easily recognizable by his signature long beard, which he grew for over a year.
Production director Alex Garcia also shared many images in Ninh Binh. In it, he captured a flock of birds flying in a long line amidst the landscape of Van Long lagoon. In addition, Alex Garcia was also impressed by the beauty of Trang An or Tam Coc – Bich Dong.

Ninh Binh was the longest filming location in Vietnam for the blockbuster Kong: Skull Island, lasting about two weeks, starting in late February. The crew filmed many panoramic shots to capture images of mountains and rivers. A village was also built in Ninh Xuan commune, Hoa Lu district, and the crew selected local extras to appear in some important scenes.
The third and final location in Vietnam for Kong: Skull Island is the Cong La – Ba Hang area, bordering Cat Ba (Hai Phong) and about 30 km from Tuan Chau Island. The scene in Ha Long Bay is expected to have 220 people participating.

Kong: Skull Island is expected to finish filming around March 20. After the wrap party in Ninh Binh, most of the cast will head straight to the airport to return home. The director and some members of the production team will return to Hanoi a day before returning to the US.
The Hollywood film crew of more than 120 members arrived in Vietnam on February 18 by private jet with more than 40 tons of equipment and props. The crew included many famous stars known to Vietnamese audiences such as actor Tom Hiddleston, black star Samuel L. Jackson, Oscar-winning actress Brie Larson and Chinese beauty Jing Tian.
The Kong: Skull Island crew attracted the attention of the media and local people wherever they went because this was the first time a Hollywood blockbuster was filmed in multiple locations in Vietnam. The film's production budget was 190 million USD (more than 4,200 billion VND).

Kong: Skull Island tells the origin story of the famous King Kong character in the history of cinema and is a new story, unrelated to the previous films about this silver screen legend. This is one of the first blockbusters of 2017, scheduled to be released on March 10.
