The world premiere of Flapping in the Middle of Nowhere was also a huge success on September 2, 2014, receiving rave reviews from prestigious critics and audiences. In a Q&A session with reporters at the Film Festival after the premiere, director Nguyen Hoang Diep said: “I am happy that I and my crew were able to recreate a special atmosphere and color for my first feature film. It is the atmosphere of the 5th season, a season that is not spring, not summer, not autumn or winter. It is a season of loneliness and filled with a sense of femininity.”
