Hydroelectric dam partially collapsed, China evacuated thousands of people
Part of the Eping hydroelectric dam in China's Hubei province has collapsed, forcing local authorities to carry out repairs.
China Youth Daily quoted a source from the Hubei Provincial Emergency Management Department,ChinaAccording to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, due to the impact of recent heavy rains, the Ngap Binh hydroelectric dam in Thap Yen city has shown signs of subsidence and cracking.

A video posted on China's Haokan website on September 4 shows authorities attempting to repair the dam, while 5,456 people living in 15 nearby villages have been evacuated to safety.
“Everything is in order. The dam is currently undergoing repairs. If the repairs go smoothly, everything will be fine,” a resident said in the video.
