According to records, the number of passengers at Vinh bus station taking buses to the southern provinces, especially Ho Chi Minh City, has started from the 5th day of Tet (February 4, 2014) and gradually increased in the following days. From 5:00 a.m. on the 2nd day of the Giap Ngo Lunar New Year, some fixed intra-provincial and inter-provincial transport routes have started operating to serve passengers. On the 3rd day of Tet, all intra-provincial and inter-provincial bus routes operate normally to serve people's travel. According to forecasts, the number of passengers traveling after Tet will increase by about 8% - 10%, so the transport sector has made plans to meet people's needs. Good news on the occasion of the beginning of the new year of the Horse 2014 is that before the Lunar New Year (10 days before Tet), the Nghe An Department of Transport organized 9,660 bus trips, serving nearly 175,000 passengers, ensuring safety.

At Vinh Bus Station and Vinh Market Bus Station alone, there are nearly 6,000 trips, on peak days, there are 800 trips/day with over 17,000 passengers departing. It is known that the campaign to serve passengers after Tet starts from the 2nd day of Tet to the 18th day of Tet and during this time, there are often many passengers from the districts coming to Vinh Bus Station and Vinh Market to catch buses to the provinces. On even days after Tet, the number of passengers often increases dramatically, so Nghe An Bus Station Joint Stock Company has a plan to serve thoughtfully and promptly. Mr. Tran Minh Thanh - General Director of Nghe An Bus Station Joint Stock Company said: "To promptly meet the needs of passengers after the Lunar New Year 2014, the company arranges vehicles to participate in peak days on all fixed routes, especially inter-provincial routes and has a specific working schedule each day to promptly relieve passengers to ensure traffic safety and order. The company also coordinates with transport units to arrange 30 - 40 reserve vehicles operating on intra-provincial routes to increase service to inter-provincial routes and at the same time coordinates with travel companies, bus companies of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, when necessary, will mobilize about 40 vehicles to participate in relieving passengers on peak days".

On the 2nd day of the Lunar New Year, Vinh Bus Station organized 50 fixed-route buses to Hanoi, 10 to Hai Phong, 4 to Hue, 4 to Da Nang and some intra-provincial routes. On the 4th day of the Lunar New Year, all 13 bus stations under Nghe An Bus Station Joint Stock Company organized 1,350 bus trips with 32,400 passengers departing. On the 8th, 10th, 12th and 16th days, the Hanoi route will increase to 180 trips/day, the Hue and Da Nang routes from 22 to 25 trips/day. Along with focusing on inter-provincial fixed-route passenger transport, Nghe An Bus Station Joint Stock Company also focuses on increasing trips on intra-provincial fixed routes such as Do Luong, Con Cuong, Thanh Chuong, Tan Ky, Quy Hop, Nghia Dan, Quynh Luu, Que Phong.

To create favorable conditions for people, Vinh Bus Station organizes ticket sales continuously from 04:00 - 24:00 a day and other bus stations from 04:00 - 22:00. Along with organizing ticket sales at the counter, bus stations also sell tickets by phone, sell tickets with appointments many days in advance for customers and for groups, agencies, schools, there will be cars to pick up at the designated location. At Nam Dan, Do Luong and Nghia Dan bus stations, tickets for long-distance routes to southern provinces and cities are sold.

To ensure the rights and safety of passengers, after the Lunar New Year, the Department of Transport established two inspection teams to inspect the compliance with legal regulations in the field of passenger transport by bus station and passenger transport business units. Mr. Le Hong Vinh - Deputy Director of the Department of Transport, Head of the Steering Committee for passenger transport during the Tet holiday and the Spring Festival of Giap Ngo 2014 said: "From February 1 to 15 (ie the 2nd day of the Lunar New Year to the 16th day of the Lunar New Year), the Department will organize inspections of compliance with legal regulations in the field of passenger transport by bus station operators and passenger transport businesses. Inspection Team No. 1 will conduct inspections on National Highway 7A, Ho Chi Minh Road and passenger transport businesses, bus stations in the area. Team No. 2 will inspect National Highways 1A, 46, 48 and passenger transport businesses, bus stations in the area and violations will be handled promptly, in accordance with the law".
