How does dirty oil corrode the human body?
Regarding the case where the Food Safety Department (Ministry of Health) recently discovered and requested to stop the circulation of canned cucumber products mixed with pork and spicy meat sauce containing cooking oil made from sewage water, imported from Wei Chuan Food Industry Joint Stock Company (Taiwan), the reporter had an interview with Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duy Thinh - Lecturer of the Institute of Biotechnology and Food, Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Dirty oil is only used in industrial production.
Sewage and dirty oil are real. Sewage comes from two sources:
Type 1: dirty oil recycled from sewers, waste oil from restaurants, waste from slaughterhouses, grease filters.
The second type: is oil taken from discarded animal parts, animal fat and skin, internal organs, expired or poor quality meat... or used oil from restaurants that is collected and then filtered to remove the color to make the oil clearer.
In fact, dirty oil was born from the purpose of protecting the environment. In the world, the form of recycling oil from wastewater has appeared for a long time. In the process of living and production, many types of waste oil and grease are discharged into the sewers. These fats are lighter than water and float on the surface of the water. People collect these fats to recycle into dirty oil.
Grease from sewers comes from plants, animals or grease from machinery (lubricating grease), industrial cleaning. These greases make the surface of wastewater not airy, microorganisms cannot survive, so grease recovery must be carried out as a measure to protect the environment.
However, in the process of recovering and treating waste grease from sewers, people have discovered the use of these greases. They are used to make soap, industrial cleaning, or as lubricants (for brick and pottery production).....
Dirty oil corrodes the human body
With dirty oil from sewers: Wastewater from sewers is a combination of countless different toxic substances whose harmful effects on health are unpredictable. List the types of waste, we will see that we cannot help but shudder. Domestic wastewater from toilets, soap... wastewater from hospitals, medical detergents, wastewater from industrial plants with lead, mercury, dyes....

The danger is that these impurities cannot be separated from dirty grease because separation is very difficult and extremely expensive.
If people eat foods made from dirty oil, they will suffer from unpredictable diseases. These toxins seep into the body, gradually destroying health. Oil and grease taken from sewers containing bleach and dyes will cause cancer and chronic diseases. In particular, oil and grease taken from wastewater from industrial zones containing lead, mercury, etc. will cause immediate poisoning in people.
With used animal oil that is reused many times, there is a risk of cancer. Because when heated, the oil will burn and decompose into toxic substances that cause cancer. The compounds in the food are broken down to form strange molecules. These molecules enter the body and cause genetic mutations, leading to cancer. Therefore, families should also limit their use and not reuse it many times.
Nowadays, grilled or fried dishes are also recommended by food experts around the world not to be eaten too much because they can easily cause cancer risk to the body.
Dirty oil and grease used in food production is absolutely not allowed because it has a huge impact on human health. This is something that needs to be condemned.
People cannot recognize dirty oil with the naked eye. Most people with low living standards often eat foods containing dirty oil. The habit of eating on the sidewalk is one of the habits that most Vietnamese people should give up. Because street food is often processed from dirty oil to ensure the profit of the seller. This is a habit that unintentionally contributes to the situation of food insecurity.
Measures to prevent dirty oil in food
To prevent the import and production of dirty food in general and dirty oil and grease in particular, the agencies controlling goods and health agencies must take responsibility. First of all, we must mention the Customs Department, the market management agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade), the Food Safety Department and the provincial food safety departments. The types of food imported into the country must have a clear purpose for use. Only then can we ensure the safety of food consumers.
