(Baonghean) - Not only in remote, precarious villages on the high border, sad stories due to drugs occur; but in the plains and urban areas, many families are also suffering from the tragedy - the consequences of "white death" and now the "stone breaking" epidemic with unpredictable consequences, causing people to fall into hallucinations, commit serious crimes...

Nearly a month ago, the Department of Resuscitation and Anti-Poisoning of the Provincial General Hospital received 2 cases of coma, the cause was determined to be the use of crystal meth (commonly known as “crystal meth”) leading to myocardial infarction. Both of these patients were very young, Vuong MN (22 years old) residing in Quan Bau ward and Chu VH (23 years old) residing in Hung Loc commune (Vinh city).

Two patients were admitted to the hospital at the same time and had the same symptoms of difficulty breathing, chest pain leading to fainting. If in the past, death due to drug "shock" was understood to be fatal due to respiratory failure (respiratory accident), now a consequence caused by crystal meth that needs to be warned is leading to myocardial infarction. One of the two cases mentioned above suffered from severe respiratory failure and died on the way to a higher level. The other was fortunately saved by doctors, and when he regained consciousness, this patient admitted that he was "using drugs". Having to leave life at such a young age is a disadvantage, but the most painful thing is that the father and mother who gave birth to them and raised them for more than 20 years suddenly became "0". In extreme pain, the father and mother collapsed and fainted in the middle of the hospital lobby...

In Hamlet 19, Nghi Phu Commune (Vinh City), there is an old, dilapidated house with the door always closed, and occasionally an elderly woman is seen coming in and out. That woman is the biological mother of Pham Thi Tuan Anh (also known as Mai “con”) - a female “boss” of a large drug ring who was recently arrested. Her parents divorced, Tuan Anh lived with her mother, dropped out of school early and often followed her young friends to wander everywhere, truly a female gangster. On that path, she fell into a downward spiral and became an addict without realizing it. To have money to inject drugs, Pham Thi Tuan Anh joined a heroin trafficking ring based on the principle of “using war to feed war”. As a result, she fell into the net of the law and was sent to a re-education camp. But when she was released, she was still the same... More than a month ago, she was arrested by the police for the fourth time for trafficking and possessing a large quantity of drugs, with a total value of more than 6 billion VND. When discovered, she even tried to use a pistol to fight back against the police in an attempt to escape. Now, while lying in prison, does Pham Thi Tuan Anh ever think about how her old, sick mother will live in the last years of her life?

Coming to Hung Linh commune (Hung Nguyen), passing through hamlet 1A, there is a small house in the middle of a wild garden, surrounded by grass and wild plants. The door is ajar but inside is quiet. That house used to be the shelter of Ta Van Sy's family (born in 1976). Now, it is in ruins, the family is also "broken up", some have died, some are still alive but have left the country, 2 young children have to rely on SOS Children's Village. Ta Van Sy was born into a large family so he had to earn a living early, at the age of 16 he had to leave his family to find a way to make a living. But in a foreign land, not having enough courage, not being able to control himself, Sy was lured by bad friends, seduced into the path of smoking, injecting and became a disciple of the "white ghost" without realizing it. Working far away, not having money to send back to his parents, Sy became even more physically and mentally exhausted, not interested in work. Finding his way back home, Sy married a girl from Thanh Chuong, hoping that having a life partner by his side would help him give up the "white ghost". But the poison had seeped into his blood, deeply in his brain, so it was not easy to give up, even when his wife gave birth to two healthy, lovely sons. Refusing to work, always hanging out with friends, the burden of the family and taking care of the children fell on his wife's shoulders. In 2010, while going to the forest to get bamboo to make brooms to sell for money, the sun was hot, her health was weak, Sy's wife collapsed and breathed her last on the way to the emergency room. His wife's death was still not enough to make Sy wake up and return to normal life, taking care of two motherless children. Sy still wandered, hung out with friends and enjoyed drugs, leaving his two children to struggle and be helpless. Relatives and friends took pity on the two children and tried to take care of them, some gave them rice, some gave them vegetables, some gave them clothes. Seeing the compassion, a police officer from Hung Nguyen district took care of the procedures for the two children to live at the SOS Children's Village (Vinh City), a meeting place for orphaned and unfortunate children. For 3 years now, the villagers have not seen Ta Van Sy return, his garden has become empty and desolate...

People in Hamlet 7, Khanh Son 2 Commune (Nam Dan) often mention the case of Nguyen TV, the son of Mrs. N, who set fire to his family's luxurious billion-dollar house. V's biological father is a drug lord and is serving a sentence. V lives at home with his mother. Since childhood, V was pampered and soon "joined" a group of drug addicts. One day, in a drug-hungry mood, V asked for money but his mother refused to give it to him. He immediately set fire to the objects in the bedroom. The fire caught quickly and spread rapidly, engulfing the entire house in a few minutes, then the roof. Seeing the flames rising, neighbors ran to help, but when they learned that there was a gas tank in the house, they were afraid of the destructive power of the explosion, so no one dared to enter. Mrs. N stood there in pain watching the house and other family assets gradually turn to ashes. As a result, V was sentenced to 10 years in prison - not a short time in a person's life. But the person who is in the most pain is still Mrs. N, because her two relatives, her two hopes, her two pillars of life are counting their days behind bars. All caused by the "white ghost".

In hamlet 7, Dien Ky commune (Dien Chau), there is a small house with a fence and a canvas cabinet that looks very shabby. The owner of that house is Mr. Nguyen Sy Tien (born in 1954), who is serving his third prison sentence for drug trafficking and possession. Mr. Tien and his wife have 3 daughters and 1 son, but he is not interested in making a living and instead falls into drug addiction, leaving his wife and children to fend for themselves. Then what happened happened, he could not escape the path of prison, infected with the disease of the century HIV, 3 children also "followed in their father's footsteps" into drug addiction, 2 daughters also went to prison for this crime. More painfully, his wife - Mrs. Ho Thi Hue was infected with HIV from her husband and left this life in resentment. That house is now only lived by Mr. Tien's son, but he often wanders around, occasionally returning to the shabby house, lost among the high-rise buildings that are springing up close together along the Bung River...

The temptation is too great, the profit is too high, so once you get into the path of using, buying, selling and transporting drugs, it is not easy to quit. When blinded by the profit, when addicted and "high" on drugs, people are willing to do anything, including burning down houses, beating relatives, and pushing their families into danger. We can also mention Dang Van Danh (1964), who, for profit, sent his daughter, who was in 11th grade, to deliver "white goods". As a result, his daughter was caught red-handed and sentenced to 7 years in prison, and he also received a sentence of 17 years in prison. Or like the case of Nguyen Trong Hoa (born in 1984) in Dien Lam commune (Dien Chau), because of drug addiction, lacking money for injection, he invited his younger brother to go dog fishing, was discovered and chased by the people, Hoa was seriously injured and died on the way to the emergency room...
