The Russian October Revolution of 1917 had a global impact, making the imperialist capitalists tremble. In Vietnam in 1930, the people of Nghe An, under the leadership of the Party, rose up to fight in support of the Soviet Union, despite the bombs and bayonets of the enemy.

In Yen Thanh district, on November 7, 1930, on the occasion of the 13th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution, a demonstration broke out to demonstrate the strength of the masses demanding tax reduction and refund, protesting against the feudal imperialists' oppression of Vinh Ben Thuy workers and Hung Nguyen farmers... Farmers from the two regions above and below the district organized into two demonstration groups, each group of about 1,000 people, marching towards Yen Thanh district capital. The demonstration group from the lower district had just reached Muong bridge (Phu Thanh - Yen Thanh) when the Foreign Legion soldiers shot at the people, killing 10 people and injuring dozens. The demonstration group from the upper district marched to Nha Vang and was also shot by soldiers, killing many people.

In Dien Chau district on the morning of November 7, 1930, a large demonstration broke out with nearly 2,000 people from Tong Hoang Truong, Ly Trai, and Van Phan gathering at designated locations and marching to Dien Chau district to submit demands. While marching, the demonstration group chanted slogans: "Support the Soviet Union, down with French imperialism and the feudal Southern Dynasty". On December 7, 1930, more than 200 farmers from Do Luong demonstrated to celebrate the October Revolution in Russia. 800 farmers and 100 women from Tong Bach Ha and Yen Lang gathered at Nui Thanh (Thanh Tan) to listen to a speech about the Guangzhou Commune.

Also during the Nghe-Tinh Soviet period, the feudal colonialists imprisoned more than 6,000 revolutionary soldiers in Vinh Prison (1925 - 1945). During the struggle to celebrate the Russian October Revolution, Mr. Nguyen Thua Duyet, a former political prisoner in Vinh Prison, from Cam Xuyen district (Ha Tinh) said: Nearing the anniversary of the Russian October Revolution, the political prisoners excitedly talked about the victory of the first proletarian revolution in the world, praising Marxism-Leninism.

On the evening of November 7, 1930, in Mr. Duyet's cell, there were more than 150 political prisoners, from Nghe An, Ha Tinh and some other places. Although their feet were shackled, the prisoners' spirits were very high. As soon as the lights were turned on, a comrade said loudly: "Today is the anniversary of the great October Revolution in Russia, please sit up so we can commemorate this great historical day." All the comrades sat on the platform. Some comrades sang the Internationale: Rise up, all slaves in the world, rise up, all the miserable and poor...
