The new Hilux is a distinct step forward from the current generation, not just a simple upgrade.
Technically, the 8th generation Toyota Hilux is a completely new version compared to the previous one (instead of an upgrade). The car has dimensions of length, width, and height of 5,335 x 1,855 x 1,815 (mm), respectively, with a wheelbase of 3,095 mm. Thus, if placed next to the current version, the new Hilux is slightly better in almost every angle.
The exterior of the 2016 Hilux stands out with a newly designed lighting cluster, electric-adjustable chrome-plated rearview mirrors, 17-inch alloy wheels, plastic-coated side steps, and LED high-mounted brake lights. Meanwhile, the interior, the highest version of the Hilux 3.0G with automatic transmission, will mainly use leather with an electric driver's seat, smart key, and 4.2-inch TFT screen. The remaining two versions use felt.

The domestic market launch event will take place on October 5, 2015.
Outstanding amenities include entertainment features with a 6-speaker sound system, CD player, USB, AUX, Bluetooth connections. Automatic air conditioning system in version 3.0G and manual adjustment in version 2.5E. In particular, version 3.0G with automatic transmission has air vents for the rear seats. The car also has a newly designed 3-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel with integrated function buttons.

As the name suggests, the car will have two engine options with a capacity of 2.5L or 3.0L with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automatic transmission. The cargo compartment size of the Hilux has increased significantly compared to the old version. In particular, the cargo hook is lowered and the steel bar cable is more durable.
The price of the new car is expected to be at 680/780/830 million VND corresponding to three models: Hilux 2.5E manual transmission with one axle, Hilux 3.0G manual transmission with two axles and Hilux 3.0G automatic transmission with two axles.
