On November 16, German newspaper Augsberger Allgemein reported that a man found his car 20 years after forgetting where he parked it.

In 1997, in Frankfurt, a man who could not find his car after many days of searching reported it to the police because he thought it was stolen.

This year, after exactly 20 years, city authorities discovered the “missing car,” and came to a surprising conclusion: there was no thief. The owner had simply forgotten where he parked it.

The police said the car would have continued to sit there and rust if the old industrial building where it was parked had not been scheduled to be demolished.

The car was taken to a disposal facility and so it was reported to the police to investigate the owner.

Police drove the now 76-year-old man and his daughter to see and say goodbye to the car before it was scrapped as it was no longer usable.

This incident reminds people of a similar incident that happened in 2012. A man in Munich got so drunk that he forgot where he parked his car, and then two years later the police discovered that the car was parked 4km away from where the man was "sure" he parked it.

Or earlier this year, a Scottish man reported his car missing after attending a music concert in Manchester, England. He said he searched for the car for five days without finding it and decided to report it to the police as stolen.

However, 6 months later, the car was found in the same place where he parked it and forgot about it. The man received a bill of more than 6,600 USD for parking fees!
